Drug Testing

mrpj:
My understanding of this thread is the tests are not to see who is breaking the law but to see who is not fit to drive due to drugs even if they are legal medicines.

…and your understanding is absolutely correct!!!

theghostofcain:
Live & let live only applies when someone is not breaking the law.

However, if someones blood alcohol level/drug intake etc. could well kill someone, then to tolerate that, would be live and let DIE.

Thank goodness for some common sense!! :unamused:

I have no objection at all having been subject to them for a number of years, and yes I belive that they are a good idea if they make motoring, car or truck, safer.

i couldn give a (zb) if im tested or not if i want the job il do the test ive been tested a number of times ive had to give details of crimal records to get clearance for army and navel bases. it didnt bother me.

( for the criminal records i just put i had no criminal record which i have but they never checked)

whilst I agree with the sentiment it had to go  mrs mix

This is true. They never check up on them. I worked for a well known bank before I got into trucking and handled around £30m in cash every working day. My so-called 10 year checkable work history and references were never even checked. If they had been, I should have never got the job according to their criteria.

In my interview for this job I just got he asked if a was a “clean living young lad”, the fella (the MD) is like something from the 1950’s, very traditional attitude and way of doing things.

Just depends what drugs they wanted me to test!!!
