Born Idle:
If he wanted you to drive without the card in you should have tossed him the keys and said “if it’s legal, you take it”!
He would have done it as well because he thinks the rules don’t apply to him.

We had a driver pulled his card with a 10 hour drive done and 10 mins to go due to snow/ice and slid into the security gate net result ? sacked the next day! even although the company knew and condoned it till the ■■■■ hit the fan (or the gate) then it was total denial

Hi there this is my first post.I was wondering if it was legal to take a lorry for inspection/service without a tacho card in. The reason I ask is I had ran out of driving time and I was told to take my card out and drive the truck the place where we take them.
Hope this makes sense
Thanks
Take time to study drivers hours in detail, knowingly driving without a card is bad enough but to do so after your daily driving period is up will, if caught land you with a sizeable fine, it also breaches the regs on operator licensing on a couple of points.
It is never “OK” to break the law don’t learn the hard way.
It is never OK the break the law.
What a load of balls.
If I needed to get home in a emergency and was out of spread over or driving.
I wouldn’t think twice.

Neither would the law… you’d get points and a large fine.
I know I would, but what I am saying is I would weigh up the probability of being caught, and the need to get home get home would win everytime.

thats why you’re in the wrong game as is 95% of truck steerers,
steering wheel attendants,
or licence holders as we’re called by HATO’s

so is driving in the yard without a card. “Out of scope driving” was done away with when the regulations changed in 2008
You sure about that ?
