Im Sure this has been asked many times before, however im looking at going to class 1 in a few weeks , now my question is when i pass my class 1 can i drive immediately or do i need to wait for my licence to return from dvla, as im looking to secure a class 1 position at my current place of work when i pass. many thanks in advance for the advice
Yes you can,some places won’t take you on until they have seen your licence though but if it’s the place you already work they should be ok just seeing your pass cert.
Yes, legally you can drive immediately - subject of course to driver cpc, tacho card etc which you probably already have in place. You have the advantage of already working for the employer who maybe more likely to accept you onto class 1 without actually having your licence.

Passed my test on the tuesday, had wednesday off to celebrate and was out driving class 1 on the thursday with just pass certificate. All with current employer.
