Driving test, driving faults

Hi guys, I was looking on the internet for the answer but I could not find an answer to this question…

How many driving faults (minors) can you get in one area (e.g. change direction) can you get before its a fail?

thanks in advance

i think it is 5

On the old system it was 3 strikes and out. But now, it’s no longer set in stone. Generally, though, an examiner will have had enough at around 4 minors and it will turn into a serious.

Lets say the test is in a manual vehicle and many gear changes end up ‘jerky’ due to driver action but not causing a safety issue

The examiner might let the first couple go but then mark the rest and after putting 3, 4 or 5 marks in the gear section they then decide that this is an ongoing error so mark a serious

Thanks guy
