You’re probably best off teaching yourself to drive a truck, you know more than the instructors anyway.
Good luck with it all.

But I am also kinda enjoying this ranting debate
.
i can only see one person ranting on here
It has taken me a while to make a contribution to this thread as I did not want to jump to conclusions. I have read and re-read your comments ninefifty, just to make sure I did not misunderstand what you were trying to say.
Firstly I would like to say that, yes there are some bad instructors out there and they should quite rightly be exposed. There are also plenty of very good instructors, who despite thier best efforts, fail to break down the barriers to learning that some people have.
Instructors will seperate the learning process into three main groups, these are the Psychomotor, Cognitive and affective domains.
The psychomotor domain is concerned with physical dexterity, for example progressive braking, steering and moving the gear stick.
The cognitive domain is basically to do with your knowledge and understanding, the how and why or the thinking skills.
The affective domain is concerned with attitudes, feelings and emotions.
As an independant observer, and basing my observations solely on what you have said yourself, I would say that your problem lies firmly within the affective domain. In other words it is your attitude that needs to change.
Learning is a two-way process, no matter how good your teacher is, he or she cannot do your learning for you.
I suggest you reflect on your lack of success and, instead of apportioning blame, try to take something positive from it.
Good luck
I remain unbowed.
Brian is a lazy instructor.
Only those with the best qualities can turn my attitude into a positive creation.
There are some people who need to have things repeated to them time and time again.
How can an instructor leave his pupil to drive a vehicle on his own at all times unsupervised?
How can an instructor leave a pupil to park a vehicle unsupervised in one’s own yard?
If your pupil is constantly wrong, you constantly point out his wrongs coercing him with his nice points to encourage the better parts to stay whilst pointing out the wrongs.
I have noticed that during my week long stint that shared learning clearly was not for me because obviously everything that my fellow pupil was doing wrong was not sinking in with me.
Then again, our breaks allowed me to reflect and improve.
Brian deserves to learn from me about communications and even negotiations.
Yes, I am going to continue ranting on here as long as people continue to respond.
There will always be somebody with a point of view.
Am I taking things too seriously here
It’s just a laugh to me
None of you will be laughing when eventually I come out here and say look, I have made it
Obi-Wan,
My attitude will never change.
There are people out there who appreciate the man that I am.
I am one of my employers best wrokers, and I am a street worker.
Thanks for your contribution.
Mekong,
You are probably right. I shall continue ranting.
As long as I am not breaking forum rules, any objections?
Kiowan,
I see you have decided to change sides.
Big Nige,
I am not that kinda guy.
I always gleam the positive out of the negative even if it seems like I am arguing, I am constantly listening.
The next instructor is more likely to appreciate me actually.
I already know it all and all he will need to do is correct my roadworthy wrongs, something Brian became lazy in doing probably focusing on how ACE could save money on petrol costs.
That’s it for now.

that explains a lot
Yes, I am going to continue ranting on here as long as people continue to respond.
Well I will now ignore this thread as we are obviously feeding the troll here.
Hi Ninefifty
I am sorry to read your comment “My attitude will never change” The learning process depends on a change of attitude and behaviour. In fact changes in attitude and behaviour are probably the only way to truly measure that learning is taking place.
I have no doubt that there are people out there who appreciate you for what you are, or that you are an asset to your employer.
I think you may be getting on the wrong side of people on here purely because this is probably not the place to air your grievances about your former instructor.
You seem to be very articulate so I’m assuming you have already written to the company involved. That would be the right thing to do. It is unfair to criticise (especially in so much detail) on a public forum, when the person on the receiving end of you comments is not here to defend himself.
As for none of us laughing when you do succeed, I will be one of the first in a line of people to congratulate you.
Dont dismiss L&T transport (nr pontefract)by any means.I used them and passed all what I needed. They have a fine well maintained fleet and a reversing area.
The instructors arent particularly good.In my opinion none of them were professional and they didnt care about the job in the slightest, except the boss,Rob,who due to other interests doesnt spend much time teaching.
However, the truth is,there probably arent many driving schools that offer a brand of professionalism that will suit everyone.I checked out hargreaves in barnsley first. The guys didnt have a clue and didnt seem at all interested in the business. It was a bad omen so I went elsewhere.
All things considered, the instructor can only teach one so much and most of the time they are simply who watches you whilst you rent their wagon to practise in.Though it would be good if they bothered explaining all the show and tell questions before the test!
The real downfall of L&T is the dunce ,Tony, who works in the office.Whoever, put this incompetent ,ignorant, arrogant moron in charge of booking tests, arranging lessons and interacting with customers really need to re-evaluate his position. This jumped up office boy acts like hes the chairman of ICI.The office would run far smoother without him and customers wouldnt go away with a bad taste in their mouths.
By all means ,give this firm a try ,but any nonsense, tell Rob that you are taking your business elsewhere because of tonys inability to provide tests and lessons suitably through poor management and he exacerbates the problems with his abrasive attitude.
P.S. They tend to do all their tea drinking, fuelling, gossiping, text messaging, phone calling in the time that you have paid for.You go out late and arrive back early.Plus when you add up the hours that you feel you have paid for it doesnt seem to tally.Make sure you get a comprehensive breakdown because they try it on.
I rest my case.
I have, I believe, accomplished my aims and everybody here has indirectly helped.
