Good Evening
I am 53 and still hold my class 1,even though I have not driven a truck since I was 29,I do not have a CPC.
If i were to take my CPC what are the chances of getting a reasonable job.
cheers Dave
Clearly you need to complete your driver cpc. I would also suggest a refresher. It’s possible that could count towards your driver cpc. Once completed you enter the job market at a good time. Things are better now than they have been for a long time.
All the best, Pete
At the moment the opportunities look like they are there. The press are howling about driver shortages, although Christmas is upon us so may be distorting the picture somewhat.
I am very inexperienced but I’m not having trouble finding work through the agencies. However, I expect the post-Christmas period to provide a better indication of whether there is really a driver shortage. If the work continues through January and beyond then you’ll have a more reliable indicator. Right now it might be a bit of a false positive, difficult to say for sure.
You also need to read and understand the current regs which is where a dcpc course on such could come in handy with the right dcpc trainer - preferably one with a LGV training school
you will also need a digicard
