Although I have class 1, I have been doing class 2 hatchery driving for 10 months now after a career change at 52 for those who wonder if age is a barrier.
I parked on the wash with my digi card on “other work” as needed to wash out. I just went to the toilet for about 2 minutes and on my return another driver had moved my vehicle to another part of the yard with my card still in the tacho. He is a bit of a knob and does this to other drivers to be awkward. He has been there a while so thinks he can do as he likes. I think that he should not be allowed to do this and I was not very happy to say the least.
why not just stick his own in slot 2… i needed help parking at the depo when i was very new and this is what the shunter did…

If the original drivers card is in slot 1 and the (shunter ) puts his card in slot 2 driver 1 still shows driving not the (shunter) slot 2 only records work , pop and rest /break…

Ahh ok perhaps he switched things then… like i said i was very new on the job and wasent really taking much notice of the taco i was more concerned with what he was doing to park my truck in the bay lol… thank you for the heads up

Next time lock the cab doors . 
I think a lot of companies would take a very dim view of this, I know I would if I ran one… if he hit something/ damaged the wagon on your card then it could be you getting done for it. The usual thing in the yard I work out of sometimes is no card at all for the shunters, I just make sure I press the ‘ok’ button before I put my card back in as it will have ‘Card!’ on the tacho display… if you don’t press ok before you put your card back in, it’s registered as being moved without a card onto your card.

One other thing you’ve learnt if on wash bay stay and wash truck before doing any thing else

No, it does not. Any driving without card in is only registered on the head unit.

my mate for fined £2000 a while ago for using someone elses card…coming up to carlisle,got the info the weighbridge is open…swaps cards,gets stopped,gets asked where he started,says southwaite…i dropped the other driver off there…gets asked,did you drop him off at the hospital??.no why…cos when he pulled his car,you were driving at 56mph…ouch,and 2k up his jacksy was the final result.

I do think the new version of tacho should incorporate this feature though would be so much better for those who double man
possibly you may not have someone else jump in to move your truck if you didnt abandon it in the wash bay when someone else is waiting before disappearing off for a turkish?
im thinking watching folk fill up then wander in to do their shopping and leaving their car blocking the pumps. 
If you read the post correctly I did not abandon the vehicle and nor did I say this driver was waiting for the wash. A skip driver turned up as I parked and need to get to the skip behind the wash. I said to the skip driver just give me two minutes to go to the toilet after driving for 3 hours Which he said was ok. The knob driver did not need the wash and did not need to be moving the vehicle with my card in the tacho.

So if I’ve got this right, someone moved your truck, to allow someone else to do something, and you were in fact going to move the truck when you came back from the toilet?

So you should wait for something serious before you say something otherwise it is fine to drive around the yard on my card recording me as driving. Possibly causing damage or accident which I am sure he will own up to if discovered at a later date.

If you are that worried about it, do 2 print outs, and write on the back.

Mark the times on there and you are covered surely? Like I said it’s non issue really. You’ll give yourself a heart attack reacting to things that are so trivial, and that is not being flippant, that is me being deadly serious. Chill out.
