Driving licence for self-drive car

'Driverless cars will soon be a reality on the roads of Nevada after the state approved America’s first self-driven vehicle licence.
The first to hit the highway will be a Toyota Prius modified by search firm Google, which is leading the way in driverless car technology.
Its first drive included a spin down Las Vegas’s famous strip.
Other car companies are also seeking self-driven car licences in Nevada.’

The article ends with this…

“The vast majority of vehicle accidents are due to human error,” said California state Senator Alex Padilla, when he introduced the legislation.
“Through the use of computers, sensors and other systems, an autonomous vehicle is capable of analysing the driving environment more quickly and operating the vehicle more safely.”

OK with the human error, but what happens in those situations at a tight junction in town when everyone in a car has got all impatient, left no room, and you have to just sit there until they work it all out?

The cars would probably know who got there first and take it in turns. Except for BMWs, they would be programmed to jump in front.

Audi’s would be programmed to tailgate and flash their lights behind cars full of kids whose
driver had the temerity to be travelling at less than ninety in heavy traffic.

Cars with eyelashes stuck on the headlights will be programmed to have absolutley no idea what’s going on around them. Fog lights will also come on automatically if it looks like it might rain.

having driven through Nevada on several occasions it may work because the chance of hitting another car are rare … most roads are desolate

One could visit such delightful places as Search light, Laughlin, Boulder City and Kingman

I remote that result, not all MWB owners are towsers, I drave a Beeeeeeeeemor and I am quite uninteligent, I ulways let no-one go furst.

Sent by my Ipad while doing 110mph on the A9 while savouring another lovely single malt, tried four others but the road was a bit uneven by Newtonmore so spilt some. Must drive more carefully.

This is a positive step forward for the United States. Anything that removes Americans from behind the wheel is a good thing.
Driving while being American is similar if not worse to driving while drunk.
