Yes. We don’t live in Canada. The only times I’ve ever been prevented from getting somewhere is due to cars blocking the road.

Grow a pair. If you’re bricking it before you even get in the cab then its likely to go ■■■■ up because you’re going to overreact. Where you’re more likely to come unstuck is roads that have been driven on a lot and with slow traffic where the snow melts and then gets chance to freeze. When people keep their foot down the heat from their tyres is enough to prevent it refreezing.
