i take the weather will be a bit colder than wet wales.

You may find Norway a tough country (and expensive too), but beatiful. Unless you go really far north it’s not that cold, because of warm ocean streams. But because it’s so thin and long plus the mountains the weather can change significantly and rapidly as you go along. It’s also pretty wet… you can have mild damp weather at the coast, then it gets colder and rains, then fog and then snow - all in couple of hours.
Roads can be narrow (a welshman should be used to that) and winding A LOT. The surface is also not the best all the time.
Motorway toll: booths where you either go “manual” for cash/card payments or “telepass”. Also tolls at tunnels and bridges. Fuel stations at lonely places are often automatic (just like pay at pump at tesco). Quite a few speed cameras. Snow chains are compulsory and you need “many” of them (like six or seven, iirc). They like to check them at border/port and send those who don’t have them to shop (at least they used to). Min tread depth is also rather high, like 5mm, iirc.
Check info point sticky at the top of the tread, there may be some more useful info.

Have you checked the legality of that? Norway isn’t EU so rules on foreign vehicles doing something like that will be different to doing it in another EU member state.

norway cant be that bad.
8.50 euro in ireland for a pack.

Make sure you have enough snow chains for your truck & trailer as when you come off the boat at Brevik they will check you 100% tyres should be at least 3 / 4 mm as well

They sometimes stop you to see if know how to fit chain’s, was in Norway last winter, near Telemark snow , ice , fog,etc but when you get round by Stravanger/ bergen not much snow and quite a bit milder, Was told that is normal around that part of Norway .WATCH your speed, they are red hot on speeding. You watch now i bet i get sent too all the Scandanavian countries , just like last year , I hate snow
