Hi all, can anyone tell me the score about driving in europe whilst on a drink drive ban in the uk. Thanks
Not allowed, you wouldn’t have a Driving Licence. Possibly you could apply for a provisional licence in another country and then take a driving test there but I really don’t know for sure.
I would say no you can’t because you do not hold a valid licence. I’ve driven through France many a time to various other countries and have never had to show my licence yet but I don’t think its worth the risk.
I did it many years ago and all I had was an AA international driving permit, this is not a driving licence, just a translation of the UK one.
Nowadays you can gain points in certain EU countries, others just take away your keys and documents until you produce something valid
Most defiantly no , in France and most other EU countries you are required by law to carry with you vehicle documents ,insurance and driving license also driving without a license means that you are not insured.
Are you asking if it’s legal, or if you are likely to get away with it ■■

Surely if you have a court date and have pleaded not guilty you have already been charged with the offence?

If you’re in court on the 26th then you must have been charged
I suspect you mean you don’t know if you’ll be convicted, but to be honest if you failed the blow and the blood test was positive you would need one hell of a good excuse for being over the limit not to get convicted.
Probably too late for you to join the Masons so good luck
Unusual to get such a long time between the last drink and the court case, they tend to get you into court the same week nowadays.
Manny, do you hold a UK licence, or a foreign one? If it’s UK, I would guess you’re screwed…
