Thing is, Stu is an out of town driver so a couple of his routes do exceed 50k there and back. So it’d be classed as EU rules wouldn’t it?

Actually Adam, if I was exceeding 50km Id already be using tachos…

well how far is Camberley then? surely its more than 50k

Stagecoach are very unlikely to give permission for you to do other driving work.If you go behind their backs you will be in deep zb.You can rely on some consciencous turd oops workmate to clipe on you.

The direct route down the A30 is probably about 20 miles or so, so with the 200 route around Old Basing, Hook, Odiham and Darby Green then one way is probably touching around 30 miles - thats probably why we have a 20 minute layover in Camberley before heading back as its probably nudging 50km but Im not that sad and actually checked the actual mileage…

They know that Im planning to do agency work, but the big boss neednt know…
I know Id be in deep ■■■ ■■■, but Ive actually gone waaaaaaaay past the point of actually giving a about buses anymore - especially people who try the “you’re going to leave a disabled person stranded” card when I politely ask them that have to fold up the pushchair because Ive already got 2 on :smiling_imp:
Oh and “stranded” = having to wait another 10 minutes in a busy area or she could have taken the “fold the pushchair” option

You may be fed up with buses but are you fed up with earning money? Also any dismissal from Stagecoach for working time and driver’s hours offences would not go well for you at any future interview.

I’m not disagreeing with you but judging by his posts I would have thought that DAF95XF was looking to do work that would be within his legal hours

Correct, my aim is to get the tin tack from Stagecoach on something un drivers hours related, might try pranging a bus a few more times - already on a verbal warning, so one more would a written, second time out the door…
My controllers already know I plan to drive truck on agency every now and again on my days off so its not as if Im keeping it hidden from them - they’ve even told me as soon as I start using a tacho I would need to drive buses as per EU…
Love to see the look on the passengers faces when I pull over for a 45 min break

Sorry I was sort of responding to the advice to “do it and say nothing to Stagecoach” As for the driving buses on EU you can still use GB rules on the days you drive buses but if you have driven any day on EU Rules then you’re weekly rest and hours limits for the whole week should comply with EU rules. GB Driving counts as Other Work under EU Rules for WTD purposes.
