Driving bans in Spain for All Saints day?

I’m running down to Barça late next week and hoping to clear France before 10pm on Saturday to avoid being stuck there until Monday night. But the question I have is are there any bans from La Jonquera down to Barcelona on the Sunday/Monday for All Siants?

Also does anybody know the location of the secure parking in Barça in case I can’t park in the hotel where the exhibition is?

Cheers :sunglasses:

http://www.scribd.com/doc/26985696/Restricciones-de-Circulacion-en-Espana-para-2010 This handy document seems to indicate that the restrictions are mainly around Madrid.

All Saints Day (November 1st) is a holiday in the following Bundesländer in Germany:
Baden-Württemberg, Bayern, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Rheinland-Pfalz und Saarland.
So no driving of ze big trucks in these Länder between 00.00 and 22.00

I didn’t go to boy scouts but something tells me I’d be in big trouble if I went to Spain via Deutschland!!

Is there any safe parking near the centre of Barcelona for the weekend? Maybe somewhere like Zona Franca?

if Barcelona is like Madrid I would imagine the truck ban would be late afternoon and early evening (4.00pm-10.00pm) on trucks running out of the centre of the city on Friday and vice a versa on Monday evening on trucks running back towards the city. I’m only guessing.

Barcelona and Cataluña in general will have the usual bans on both the Sunday and Monday mainly on the AP7 and the NII these will be clearly displayed on the Matrix boards

paul, i had the unfortunate experience of meeting wbis last night   had a couple of pints with him in hemmel. had to sit for two hours watching cardiff city :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: he tells me he,s going to invade your office on the way down, take my addvice and have a day off

To Andy Rich,
it would best not to park in the Zona Franca industrial area, there have been reports of cab break ins,the safest place is head directly in to the commercial port, they do not do security checks, and if they do,just write out a dodgy CMR to say you are tipping there, when i go through the police gate, they are reading the paper, and not worried. There is a truckstop called Petromirales, and a cafe for menus and hot food,it is on Muelle de Inflammables, but it is not on the sat nav,you drive all the way around to the back of the port, and the parking is safe and patrolled by the Guurdia Civil.Failing that drive south towards Tarragona,on the coast road is the Cambrils truckstop, excellent buffet, good price, great seafood and meat grilled on a fireplace in front of you, safe parking, there were Russian and Ukrainian trucks there last time, the beach is a 20 minute walk, with many places to eat by the marina. There is a lady of the night establishment opposite.

Hello,

If you are heading for the BICC (?) near the Olympic Port there is a parking at Junction 25 ish of the B33 (I think - anyway the one that goes coast side of the city - Ronda Litteral ■■) Its about 25 euro a day. Reasonably secure. If you are going to Montjuic (the exhibition centre by Place De Espangne) up the hill past the museum and left at the first round about there is a coach park, again around 25 a day. I would also use this one if you are in the exhibition centre further away towards the airport. Don’t go into the one at the bottom of Montjuic as its not as secure.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies guys, looks like I might use CIM Vallès for the weekend then get closer into town for the rest of the week

The signs are up on the A2 that the ban around Madrid is on Monday 16.00-22.00hrs
but the mossos d’esquadra in catalunya are a world unto themselves and will more than likely close the roads for the whole bank holiday
