Driving assessments and rest periods

Here’s the scenario:
Finished working at 0215 on a Sunday morning. Start work again at 1830 on Monday.
Would having a driving assesment for another company at 1100 Monday morning mess up the rest period?

Yes, it did with a guy at Wisemans Diary and he got suspended. He handed in his notice and now works with me

It won’t really mess up your weekly rest period because you’re having a reduced weekly rest period anyway.

However you will need to watch when you start your next weekly rest period, you will need to start a new weekly rest period no later than 144 hours from when you insert your driver card on the driver assessment.

The biggest obstacle here I think is the fact that the assessment at 11am would start your 15 hour spread for the day. How confident are you of having your night shift finished by 2am? I wouldn’t want to phone my gaffer up 7.5 hours into my shift saying I’m out of time…

I wouldnt be afraid of asking the place you want to work at what other appointments they could offer to better fit around your shifts. An 11am appointment for a night man is hardely ideal anyway.

So you’re one of those hauliers who doesn’t give a toss about drivers hours? A mate of mine is on 9 points, you interested in hiring him?

1 - You don’t know he got suspended for breaching hours. It could have been because he couldn’t complete his employer’s duties because hed have run out of hours
2 - If he did breach his hours, maybe it was an honest mistake. Ever heard of it?
3 - Maybe Stu spoke to him, accepted the guy’s version and took him at his word he’d be more careful in future so gave him a chance
4 - Just because someone hires a guy with an infringement doesn’t automatically mean he doesn’t give a toss about drivers hours (See points 2 + 3)
5 - You’re friends with a guy who has 9 points? Does he get the same sanctimonious, arrogant pish everyone on here gets from conor the driving god or do you keep that for when you’re keyboard warrioring?

Although why I even put this to you I don’t know. You’re so far up your own arse and such an arrogant, sanctimonious know it all you’ve jumped to a conclusion and decided you know the full facts so anything else is in one ear and out the other

I think I need to clarify. I used to work in the supermarket he delivered to so have known him for some time. We both applied for the same job and had our assessment the same day.
He was unable to start his next shift on time because of an issue with his weekly rest already having been reduced the previous week.

They suspended him for investigation, it was pointless anyway as he was handing in his notice anyway.
