Driving assessment

Well, after 31 years driving class ones, I undertook my first driving ever ’ driver assessment’ this morning.

Glad to report that I got a good report

Safety checks done, hooked up to a trailer and more safety checks, then about an hours drive round a mix of roads from dc to tight country lanes, all no probs at all. (no written test or questions, just driving ability)

The only thing the assessor could pick me up on was when I dropped the trailer, I didn’t use both steps to dismount the rear of the cab . . . sneaky booger never got out of the cab then, so he must have been having a sneaky shufti in his mirror

If that was all he could pick me up on, then I am well pleased with that. I start driving for them at the weekend, and the uncomfortable task of letting my current (now previous) employer (and mate) know has also been done.

Happy days

Congrats mate, nice 1

No pressure mate, it should have been easy after all those years with back seat drivers giving you stick…

My back seat drivers were too scared to give me stick

(there is one junction on our patch with such a vicious camber, I could rearrange the seating order on the back seat, hahaha)
