Just been told I have a driving assessment tomorrow as part of the DCPC .
Anyone else had an assessment as part of the scheme?..or should I read something else into it

Presumably the driving assessment is just part of the days course, I can’t see a driving assessment lasting 7 hours
If it’s SAFED i’m sure it will count towards your cpc
Completed all of my DCPC on Friday but it was all backside-numbing classroom guff !
Is your DCPC being run in house?
Thats the thing, completed 5 modules and hold a card, I’m out all day so this 'erbert will have to travel with me. Hope he dont mind Radio Four including the Archers and being kicked out of the day cab while I have me daily 45 minute snooze across the seats
If your current DQC is expiry dated 09/09/2019 then no more dcpc hours can count until after 09/09/2014

It must have prior approval from JAUPT.
I had one with Wincanton, counted towards my DCPC.
I would mark you down for listening to th archers!
Heh heh!
Beats Jeremy Vile and Steve Wrong on R2
Well I will go along with it once I’ve checked his credentials, reasons and qualifications for daring to judge MY driving
Yes. One of my DCPC courses was a defensive driving course.
Oh, dont worry…I’m very defensive!

I’ve had 2x driving assessments recently, 1 of them qualified for DCPC & the other was a little bit more sneaky & not what it appeared on the outside.
Why the wink? It’s an assessment, what worries you about an assessment?
Yes we had an assessment to help fill in the day.We were told that there was no pass or fail but just to see the standard of our driving.
It was less time in the classroom so everyone was happy.

Because I am a bit of a thorn in the Transport managers side over several issues, hence the assessment in a bid by him to try and catch me out. Which will fail…sniff

One day of our in-house DPCPC was only to check the general standard of driving, and to bone up on fuel efficient driving.
No bad thing,as some of the gizmos on new trucks nowadays do make a difference.
ie,the exhaust/engine brake on the new Actros is so good, use of the footbrake is down to a minimum, usually when you stop at your destination.
The auto 'box will hang on and keep pulling down to 900 rpm.

Exactly right as long as trainer knows what he is doing and talking about. We were quite lucky with ours really according to some of what you read on here!
Before parting with your own money for courses make absolutely sure that the provider has got JAUPT approval in place for said course.I have met people who thought that their FLT automaticaly counted for the DCPC the fact is that it doesnt.
Well it was no big deal in the end.
Apparently it was a SAFED thing that didnt count towards my DCPC as I already have the card marked up to the right year.
Turns out we are all having it done, I just happened to be first. The trainer is an Ok bloke who has hosted the inhouse CPC sessions before.
My conspiracy theory has been blown out of the water
Company putting all the drivers through it…all parts have a driving assessment, delivery (multidrop) included…
There is still 4 & 5 to complete …4 is tachos/rules etc…5 is driving in adverse weather conditions…both have a driving assessment…they hope to be doing 5 in the winter months.
