Sounds like this person may be confusing it with a driving licence which I believe is still required to be on your person when operating any motor vehicle

Really?

I carry mine, but wasn’t aware I had to.

Or is my head still in the days of being allowed 7 days to produce?

I think the 7 day producer is applicable even though they can check before they even speak to you. I carry it with my bank card anyway as proof of ID

Had an office waller today telling a driver that he must carry his drivercard at all times even when not at work because if he his stopped by the law they can download his card and do him for driving over his hours ? I know he his talking ■■■■■■■■, if this was the case 90% of drivers would be weekended or spending the night in the yard every single day

Only a fool could write something like this, there one born every day, how the [zb] they dress then self’s in the morning beat’s the [zb] out of me

Listen pal who the ■■■■ are you to call me a fool read what it says the comment was made by someone else and judging by the ■■■■■ some people put on here its gold !!! so stop playing the keyboard hardman and post something positive or do one its time for bed .

Back in the good old days when we used the domestic hours rules there was an anomaly in them.

If you used a van as your private transport and you had reached your max. hours for the day you were not allowed to drive that van legally. The reason being that it was designed as a goods vehicle.

On the other side of the coin, there was nothing to stop a car owner mini-cabbing all night and then driving a lorry all day. In this instance the same thing applies today.

Best be on the safe side and walk home

bring back log sheets, then we can do what we want, tee hee, eric attwood drivers started at 1am that’s a good time cos you can change later to 4am or 7am or 10 am or 11am bring back the good old days     mind you it was 1968, only kidding of course I wouldn’t have dreamt of it

The only time mine leaves the tacho machine is for a download then it goes straight back.

[zb] that, no way I’m leaving card in a vehicle if not with it. Ok having a so called own truck, but ours get moved about and shifted between me leaving it and coming back in in morning no way leaving card in !

Mine stays with me.

You’re thinking of a digi card, the op means a DCPC card.
