Wouldn’t feel comfortable with driving a wagon someone had died in at all,I had to pick up a trailer after it had been impounded a few months ago that had run over and killed the driver,I didn’t feel comfortable with that as it still had all the investigation marks on the tyres and a new set of landing legs, the smashed up unit was also in the yard where I picked up the trailer, however I don’t think that’ll be used again!!
If I knew the deceased, probably wouldn’t want to drive it - otherwise no problem…
I’ve been in/dealt with motors that people have died in, more than most people (over 30), they have a very distinctive smell.
I’ve heard talk of ‘the stench of death’, but really, there is a very unique smell about them.

Hiya…try this one…a chap had a bad crash nr Toddington (many years ago) and lost his life…
the company he worked for repaired the truck(new cab )and many new parts. The dead mans brother
worked at the same firm and was off work a while getting used to the loss of his older brother.
The younger brother returned to work only to find he was to drive the lorry his older brother had been killed in…
yes he did leave and got a job working at another firm… luckley in those days you could walk into jobs quite easly
This is true I’ve not used any people’s or company names
John
old lad from a well know steel firm had a heard attach at the wheel. dies, truck was fixed and another lad is still driving it to this day.
its just a machine at the end of the day, like an ambulance etc… they aint gonna hurt you when they are dead…
Not a problem, lots of us live in houses where people have died.
Sadly I drive fleet, but if I had my own unit I would like to have one of those 70’s style sunsrtrips the one’s with the drivers name and his current girldfriends name.
Except mine would read “Mike” on my side and “Victim” on the other.
You know we had a suicide jumper get killed under one of our wagons and it got swapped with another depot and we got one of theirs. I wonder why the company done this?
Also if you want to talk about a real spooky story the bridge the jumper jumped from almost a year exactly another one of our drivers crashed into that bridge with a heart attack and died, seriously is that not spooky? I found out recently that it was the same bridge sounds daft but im awful paranoid about driving on that stretch.
depends how long he’s been dead. If he’s gone stiff as a board, it’d be a bugger trying to get him outa the bunk.
The people on my grandads bus were screaming when he died

You aren’t allowed to say jumper these days, apparently they have to be reffered to as fallers.
I hope I don’t get a hand-knitted faller for Xmas this year.

Stagecoach buses do this too, if a bus is involved in a fatal accident, apparently it helps the driver not to think about what happened…
We have a 29 seat coach where I work where a passenger has died on it, few times Ive driven it, it felt fine
My Old wagon was a “death” wagon so to speak. Previous driver had died on a night out on the A1 somewhere. Nobody thought to tell me about it and was only upon my questioning of the amount of broken glass in the all the crevices that someone told me what had happened and that the window had been smashed to get him out. I had the truck cleaned, and carried on as normal.
In all honesty, even though i never knew the guy I felt it was right to keep the wagon out working, if that makes sense. I loved my job, assumed he did too and thought keeping his wagon going was almost keeping the thought of him going, most of the other drivers always talked about him and “his” truck whenever they saw me with it.

LMAO, i found that bit hard to read… she’s clearly as daft as him.
What about the daltons transport of Southampton driver who killed a prossie and had her body on the bunk, was caught sent down. Next a driver was here boasting about a new job he had at daltons… He didn’t come back on here after I posted a link about the incident.
When I’m home next il try and find the thread.

Nah it won’t, it’ll be easier, drop the passenger window, fold the passenger seat down and he’ll slide right out.
That way he’ll be stood up when he’s lowered to the floor.
Depending on which way round he was on the bunk.
