Drivers with laptops

How much time do you manage to spend on your laptop? Is it for work or a bit of both, :stuck_out_tongue: work and pleasure. Liz

Liz, I usually have a browse for a few hours when parked up in the evening for pleasure puposes (football type things & general browsing)

Also find it useful for checking Google Maps to see where I’m delivering to or for getting a more accuarate address than I’m sometimes given :open_mouth: At present taking a 45 at Hamilton services checking my deliverty details in Dundee tomorrow.

All in all I would be lost without it.

I use my laptop as a dvd player and tv at night when parked up

i actually bought mine so i could watch telly…got a dazzle tv stick & aerial, but no tv as yet,i’ll give it try tonight now i’m parked up in exeter.

use mine during the day when waiting to tip, do a bit of surfing, check routes ect and use it as a t.v at night when i am parked up.

use mine for about 2 hours browsing and checking where im off tommorrow,(backup the satnav). watch tv sometimes and stuff like that

i havent even connected mines to the internet yet. i dont see the point in wasting my free 60 day trial period (security) until i have an invertor and mobile broadband. i wont be getting the broadband until i take out a contract to get my hands on the N96. at the moment my laptop is a games console and backup for my pictures from the main pc. and a DVD player for my bedroom

scanny make sure you get a laptop data connectiom as laptops use more bandwidth and data than a mobile phone

i dont use the laptop in the truck i just use a pda i find it does everything i need usually on it when parked up up or tipping

Yes, they are called dongles. My husband has t-mobile and pays £20 a month and is very happy with the connection to laptop when on the road. Can’t always get a signal, but that depends on where he is parked. When we met 4 years ago, he did not know how to switch a p.c on. Now he is an expert on the net. LOL
