Drivers with diabetes

Hi you lot

As a type1 diabetic myself I have to go through DVLA’s 3-stage application every year. And again I am in the middle of it and cursing how slow it is. Neither DVLA or NHS has no clear concept how to do it. Nobody seem to know anything, forms get lost, etc and as a top on this crap, average time for clearing this messy process, 5-6 months seem to be a norm.

So I am curious to hear any experiences from old and new drivers.

Recently discussed, I’m not diabetic(that I know of) but it’s interesting reading.

Thanks. No problematic experiences there then.

are you definetly type 1, or are you type 2 that also takes insulin,if you are type one and your body makes no insulin at all then i’m sorry but that is something i can’t help with because i haven’t been there ,if your type 2 then research the web and make up your own mind on things ,not all diabetics are the same, sorry i can’t be of more help,i have my way of dealing with it but i’m not a doctor so you have to work it out yourself , good luck

Someone with a forum name like that…
