well i was depressed until i read this thread, just a shame as a recruiter i cant get drivers so quickly for genuine work.

A bit too much “great British Apathy” being expressed here by the looks of it.
The inability to take on jobs - especially if a driver is already Ltd Company - doesn’t look very good upon the driver.
I dismay at how much of a hard time OP is having on this thread here.
The only thing I’d say is wrong with the whole setup here is “lack of time” to organise it all properly.
I might have a go at something like the French run for example - to get some experience in. I’d be most keen to do such a thing if I’d just started as a full-timer at a new yard, and on week three say, I get offered “a tuition run to Europe” which is what seems to be being offered here - but only this one presumably is straight out of the gate, and is a one off job.
I find myself put off only by the latter two aspects - no bad reflection on limeyphil at all. It’s the set-up that’s undesirable rather than the integrity of the gaffer, or the job itself.
