Ladies and gents

Looking for info on driver’s wages. I have held my class1 for twenty odd years and have done some driving in the past although it was a few years ago. I am seriously considering leaving my current employment if I can find a position as a driver. I have spoken to one or two drivers who have been pretty helpful re what they make but they have all been on local runs. I am quite prepared to put the hours in and do nights away and possibly European runs etc. How much can I earn per week in my hand?

A lot less than you’d want for the job… :grimacing:

Local haulier, national tramping, between £500-£600pw gross maybe…

They don’t pay enough to think that’s for sure

Trying ringing or visiting local hauliers asking for work.

In your area approx £500 & that is for EU work

Not a lot at the moment due to time of year but will poss pick up in a mth or 2

There is a driver on here who lives in Fife you could ask him know as Simon

If you are going back to driving you may need a digi card as few analog tach around now also is your licence still good or do you need a medical to re new :question:

Also you might have to do the drivers cpc

You will need to do 35hrs drivers cpc training by september 2014 otherwise you wont be able to drive anything bigger than a van commercially!

Thanks for all the info I have kept my licence up to date re medicals and I have CPC in hand. I have the form for the digi card just need to send off for it.
