I get on well with the Polish lads who come and check in my tank deliveries at one of the places i go to, it’s quite enlightening, whoda thought they’d be voting UKIP, well they are cos they know this constant immigration can’t go on as it has done.
They are youngish blokes, all well spoken intelligent clean presentable hard working reliable and polite and good at their jobs, to be perfectly honest if i was looking for good staff these lads would be straight in, we got on the subject of why so many poles have done so well, and i’m the first to congratulate anyone with a work ethic who gets off their arse finds a job and works their way up, bloody good luck to 'em wherever they came from…difference being they tell me that in Poland if you are young man not long out of school/college/uni benefits and dossing about isn’y an option, the state isn’t there to provide an alternative income to wages.
I’m afraid our young blokes will have to do the same as we did, and the same as these young Poles are doing, thats starting at the bottom and proving they are worth more and getting better work for themselves…we have some very good newby drivers on this forum who have done exactly that, when offered a start they’ve snatched the hand off, doesn’t matter what it is it’s a start and they’re earning money and topping up their CV’s.
I have no doubt several of our newbies with their heads screwed on will do well in our industry in the coming years, they will use their noddles and when the time is right search out their own niches which suit them and rise up the pyramid that Rikki referred to in his spot on post.
Now imagine how this Polish lads you are talking about will feel if they read some of the comments here? I will tell you how as I know coz one of my friends is Polish lorry driver member of this forum - they are sick and tired of the racist and xenophobe comments. People simply exercise their right to live and work in UK, for which they are bashed left and right…
Look Dolph no one is racist or facist or anything else.
No one cares what country, religion, race or ■■■■■■ orientation someone is.
I work with a few poles and Lithuanians and they are nice very friendly guys. who live here with there wife’s and children and in the same situation as everyone else.
But the country can’t carry on with the high immigration levels just now.
That’s it nothing more or nothing todo with race religion or anything else
If what you say is true, why most people on this board blame EE and not the system and Governments that allow us this freedoms(movement/work)?

Looking back these few seem to have a self- inflated ego of being better than anyone else and their sole purpose in life is to lie, accuse belittle and undermine, anything or anyone. Possibly the same ones that talk to their colleagues then stab them in the back or talk to their boss saying how good they are but in the yard call him all the names under the sun.
They do not take Rikki advice

Because they do not want to listen but prefer to just go on slating and slagging and accusing, maybe they think it makes them look big on here, the keyboard warriors.
After they finish slagging of the PDU they now turn to the EEs and then who will be next.
The PDU might never be good enough for some, but at least it is trying to make things better, not just talking the talk or moaning like many others.
Look on the website and there is a link to the FB Group where you can ask those questions you want answering like Rikki said. Or you can read all the crap posted by those few bigots.
I had a read asked a question and decided to join, that is your choice, but look for yourself rather than listen to the few who think they know it all.

What a load a load ■■■■■■■■ just because we don’t fall into line and join the PDU because you tell us how great it is,I’ll have my own opinion thank you very much,if it doesn’t tie in with yours or the PDUs then that’s tough…your problem not mine!
I’m aware of his Facebook page,which is great as long as you don’t ask questions Barrie doesn’t like if so you’ll get your question removed and banned,I’ve also researched Barrie and if you do the same you’ll see he has spent years and years having issues with establishments,constantly trying to launch these “anti establishment” groups,if you look deep enough you will find the same .

I have no issues with any EE I regard 3 polish lads as friends,you may want to look back and refresh yourself of what you said before trying to claim it was others that started the racism.

The fact is he won’t come here to answer questions on neutral ground, an fb page with little views and controlled by Barrie is not going to give the freedom of expression (and dare I say banter) this forum can generate.
If Barrie is running the PDU by drivers for drivers then it’s insane that he wouldn’t come here. If I was cynical I might think it could be an IP address issue, but tell him to use a proxy if that concerned.
Sure there’s loads of £25 potentials here who are wise enough to use their own judgement.

so what exactly has the PDU achieved so far? it has managed to get you to post on his behalf and told off for doing so.
do you really think the PDU will achieve anything given we have so many wonderful established representation in the UK already?
do you really think drivers will part with hard earned ££ to a bloke who has decided he can do better than the other transport unions out there?
that isn’t being a know it all, its being a realist.
Barrie is asking people to collectively fund him a 15k a year salary they have every right to ask question yet Barrie makes no effort to answer them on his Facebook page,anything that delves beyond what he is comfortable with gets deleted by him and the poster gets deleted,he had already stated he won’t join here to answer questions/queries and you wonder why people are unwillingly to commit.
To prove my point somebody asked last night on his Facebook page what happens to all the money that’s collected will it be held in a newly created PDU business account or are they registering as a charity as the bloke who asked the question said if he joined he would claim the VAT back…That post has been deleted overnight,you see people ask what exactly happens to there money which they are perfectly entitled to do and Battie deletes the post,as someone said before it seems like Barrie is looking for pension from this but he is willing to take the money but refuses point blank to give any assurance that people’s money will be safeguarded and used for what it’s intended to.
So Eezeer,should people not be entitled to ask these questions and receive an answer■■?

May I request you refrain from argument on the TN Forum.
I thank you for your support and your good intentions in promoting the PDU but please be careful not to make statements on our behalf.
To make clear the PDU would welcome and we already have members from Non-UK Drivers who live and work in the UK. They have the same issues as others and are welcome to join the unity.
The PDF is now a well-established Charity for Drivers and have done very good work and should be applauded for what they have achieved.
There are many who will never join or be willing to give the PDU a chance and only in time can it prove itself and gain the trust of those non-believers that unity can bring about more respect and change. By fuelling argument you may do more harm than good so let them read the information on the website and make up their own minds.
