Drivers - Their own worst enemy?

Company X pays PAYE Drivers £100 per shift.
(No extra for Nights, Weekends or Bank Holidays)
(Nights Out simply do not occur at Company X)

Company X also expects to pay Self Employed Drivers £100 per shift.

But Company X doesn’t have to pay any Holiday Pay or National Insurance for the Self Employed Driver.

What Self Employed fool would work from Company X ?

. . . quite a few actually, usually the lame and unskilled.

You’ve got the day off from company X then eh…?

Do you ever have anything positive, or righteous, or happy to say??

You’re all doom and gloom.

A company owner can have a day off anytime.

A few more Drivers to screw then it will be another month on Admiralty Bay in Bequia, if you know where that is.

Now please excuse me, we’ve got to order a 64 reg BMW for September (and we don’t mean 1964).

You’ve got my holiday plans - be grateful and happy for that.

Self employment has its own benfits for reducing ones tax bill (that means not paying any if done right, so my accountant informs me). However theres also other downsides like joining company pension schemes and other company bonus’s.

Do you mean self employed as in ‘Sole Trader’, think this is becoming a bit tricky now, or self employed as in Ltd company. Or are you not really sure what you mean and have been on the pop a bit early.

Ha Ha Ha “On the pop” Nah . . .

In all honesty, I’m teetotal and really a

I’m not sure about their exact “Selfemployed/Sole Trader/Ltd Co” status but they do get a £500 or £600 cheque on Friday and that’s the end of it as far as Company X is concerned and no work/no pay guaranteed for next week.

Well who’s a clever little boy/girl/transexual then?

Bro, if you are holidaying in Bequia, but driving a BMW, regardless of age, then I would say you have a lack of imagination.

With the wheels that is.

Edited as I didn’t realise the OP was a lady, I only use sweetheart to try a belittle a male post. apologies!

At least its not a photo of a truck crash or somebodys misfortune for a change :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

And

If you are screwing drivers, I will send a few round to see you !!!

Much does company Y pay ?

:unamused: Seriously mate, Who the hell are you attempting to impress, do you really think anybody gives a flying ■■■■ :unamused: :unamused:
I was always taught that bragging is a sure sign of insecurity, which normally has a side effect of coming across as a bit of a ■■■■…just saying like

A 1964 BMW would be impressive though…

robroy:

Yes, I think robroy cares.

He’s reliable and very responsive.

Don’t know about the caring bit, but as Meatloaf once said 2 out of 3 aint bad :sunglasses:

You took the words right outta my mouth, must have been when you…

…Nah - let’s not go down that road.

That would work both ways for me. I’d be actively looking for work and if I got a better offer for a few days or a full week the following week from another firm I’d be telling Company X on Friday when they hand out my run for Monday, “sorry I’m not available until…” and then when they complain remind them that I don’t actually work for them because they decided they didn’t want to employ me to save a few quid and that I just provide a service to them and am free to choose to drive for whoever I please.
