Well the Darwinian awards this year will go to the drivers in Tesco Widnes who when given the option to sit in their cab or the waiting room opted for the waiting room, thick as mince springs to mind
Sadly a…
Reflection of driver mentality. Ocado let drivers wait in their cabs but, there are always half a dozen drivers sat there on wooden benches hunched over staring at their phones.

I read the Tesco risk assessment for allowing drivers to sit in the passenger seat (and must not leave passenger seat until told otherwise) of their truck only, if they ask to be segregated. And when tipped their keys will be passed to the yard marshall who will bring them to their truck along with paperwork and I thought
■■■■ you Tesco
Now loading at Culina Salford and no change not allowed in cab the waiting room is tiny with no ventilation when I arrived there were 4 drivers sat in there next to each other idiots, currently stood outside rather than sit in that hole. Spoke to the duty manager but he has been programmed to only speak the company line of drivers in cabs kill people bunch of ■■■■■■■
Yes but is it Tesco or actually Wincanton, DHL or some other company running the site?
There are really simple solutions, to keeping the warehousemen safe from vehicles driving off the bay, which allow the driver to rest in his cab and retain his keys.
Tesco Daventry right now. It’s nice to encounter management that incapable of independent thought that they’ll slavishly follow procedures over good sense. They obviously have little regard for visiting drivers wellbeing but to see that they have so little regard for their own employees wellbeing is staggering. A point I made loudly when handing my keys over.

Good way of keeping the shelves empty
just stick all your drivers in a small room and BAM ! domino effect
I cannot believe drivers are sitting in these rooms. When I go into work tonight, I’m making it very clear to management that if I cannot wait in my cab wherever I go, I’m pulling out, no quibbles.

I get sick pay but only use it if I’m genuinely sick.
The cemetery will be full of blokes like you by the end of April
Is there really a genuine relevant reason for not being allowed to sit in your cab and wait for a green light.
I get it that drivers could pull off the bay, I’m also aware that some drivers have handed in dodgy keys in the past, but surely a belt and braces policy of keys handed in, wheels chocked up, with red line off and/or a suzie lock would sort the problem and make delivering to these crap holes a more comfortable and restful experience for drivers.
We rarely have to deliver to RDC’s it will be interesting on Monday, first call is Bibby, Corby.
I shall give them the paperwork, my phone number and give them the option of:
- Stay in my cab or: 2) stand outside on my own, suitably dressed for the weather. I will not sit in a small portakabin with any number of other drivers.
Tesco Dav have apparently updated their rules as of lunchtime today (I did post my above picture with some scathing comments on soshal meeja earlier so I’ll take the credit thank you
)
Drivers are now to sit in their cabs, but only in the passenger seat! Makes me wonder how you’ll see the green light to tell you that you’re tipped!
It’ll be cosy if you’re double manned!

You’re just a trucking hero Maost
…You get stuff done.

Tesco have told us that they are addressing comcerns raised about everyone sitting together waiting for runs. They dont seem to have done anything about it yet though. I was sat there last night and one driver laughed while he was drinking and spat his tea all over everyone. I think a lot of people still dont care or realise the seriousness…

I will sleep well, thank you.
In the current circumstances drivers should not be crammed into small waiting rooms, its a disregard for our welfare and goes against the social distancing advice the government are giving.
How can these places continue to operate in this way?
I will be refusing to wait in waiting rooms from now on.

Delivered to Bibby Normanton ten days ago.
I dropped my trailer then told them when I handed my keys in.
Didn’t get a problem from them

This is where Culina Manchester expect you to sit you’d be pushed to 50cm separation never mind 2 metres point blank refused to sit in there pointed out the problem to the manager “Tough” was his reply.
