Driver’s near miss
11:46am Tue Feb 01, 2011

From the video i can’t see how the tipper was going too fast. But yet others can see from that few second video that it’s the tipper driver that was going too fast. ■■? I don’t know the road or the speed of the truck or the car or the road marking or road condition. So am not going to point fingers at anyone.

Maybe he saw the car coming and tried to keep over out the way and hit the wall or maybe the car was going to fast ?

Only the driver will know for sure.

(Disclaimer: this is not a dig at anyone just a point of view)

Surely if the truck tips over, whatever the reason, the driver was going to fast for the road and/or conditions.

whatever his speed. the guy [zb]ed up.
it could happen to any of you. but not me.

Where did the car go? You saw it in the first clip but not the second

How many reasons can you think of for a truck falling over?

The second clip was from the first part of the bend, before the truck actually tipped so the car driver was still unaware of what was about to happen.

looks like it hit the wall and that helped to push it over ?

possible but hed never have made that turn even if he hadnt clipped the wall if he did clip it at all

geeez well this is old, and has been posted already, by me I think :astonished: but cba finding it.

I drive this road and those bends 5nights a week and these are a nasty pair of bends.
maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&ll … .12,0,2.9

They are worse than it looks on google, they are blind and no way that guy should have been doing that speed, should expect to slam on at any second because somethings coming the other way and you need to take up the whole road. Best time to drive this road is in the dark as you can see lights through the hedges, really bad at this time of year :frowning: This part of the road is actually a 30 but nearly every truck flies up to these bends on the limiter, and most cars will be the same, and on the wrong side of the road. Pretty normal to be overtaken near these bends :unamused:
