Drivers hrs question

I’ve got my normal stint of driving rcv’s at glastonbury festival this year, I start on the Friday 24th June and my last day is Thursday 30th June with saturday 25th as my day off. My normal job is Monday to Friday so to make me legal for drivers hrs I take it I’ll have to take Monday off my normal job and just work the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Am I right or am I wrong?

Having a brain block but what’s a RCV?

Are you going to be driving on public roads or just on private land around the site?

Hi, a rcv’s is a bin lorry and will be driving on and off site…

Where’s Rog? He always seems clued up with this kind of stuff

Is it on domestic regs?

Assuming you work normally from Monday 19th to Thu 23rd at your normal job then do friday 24th on site. You then have Sat off (assume (24 hours rest) then do Sun 25th to Thu 30th if you’re not due to start work again until the Monday 4th then that should be OK as you are having over 72 hours off which covers your 48 and any payback from the reduced rest on the Saturday.

ROG or Tacho will confirm but they may want start/finish times and details of your last weekly rests.

You can work Mon, Tue, wed, Thur on your normal job, Fri on rcv, sat off, then sun-thur on rcv, then fr, sat, sun off, start back on your normal job on Mon. If that’s what you’re asking, you can work the 1st Monday!

I agree with the 2 posts above.

You can work Monday to Thursday on your usual job then do Friday on the HGV, Saturdays rest needs to be at-least 24 consecutive hours, then work on the HGVs Sunday to Thursday.

If you’re not starting your usual job until the following Monday there’s no problem.

I haven’t checked the regs but I don’t think it’s domestic regulations, domestic door to door bin collections are on domestic regulations, but from memory I can’t think of anything that would put this job on domestic regulations.

I think there’s something like none commercial waste from commercial premises, dunno if that’d count from a festival?

Doesn’t matter anyway! I only asked as I read the question wrong, I thought he was asking about returning to his normal job after glasto
