And there was me thinking you can only have a 15 hour day maximum
Correct.
daleyboy:
and that includes your breaks and poa,
Also correct.
daleyboy:
and then you can only do that 3 times a week
Not correct.
daleyboy:
because you must have a minimum of 9 hours off in every 24 hour period.
Correct.
daleyboy:
Which means maximum total working week is 84 hours.
Not correct.
daleyboy:
3 x 15 hour days with 9 hour reduced breaks then 3 x 13 hour days with 11 hour breaks.
Not correct.
And there is you thinking wrong then.

There are two ways you can legally do more than 3 x 15 hour shifts in a week and bring your total for 6 shifts to 90 hours.

Come on then tell us how you do it! and you can tell me how you work 99 hours in one week as well, because spread over 6 days working 99 hours would leave you 7.5 hours off everyday.
I cant see how you can do it

Two possible ways.
-
Split your daily rest each day, one period of at least 3 hours and one of at least 9 hours which allows you to work 15 hours every day. This is the way I do it on the weeks I do 5 x 15 hour days and 1 x 13 -15 hour day as on each of the days I spend around 4 hours on a ferry.
-
You are making a mistake when you say you can only reduce your daily rest to 9 hours 3 times a week. You can reduce to 9 hours 3 times between weekly rest periods so for example
Mon 06:00 - 21:00
Tues 06:00 - 21:00
Weds 06:00 - 21:00
Reduced weekly rest of 33 hours.
Fri 06:00 - 21:00
Sat 06:00 - 21:00
Sun 06:00 - 21:00
90 hours worked in a week, without using split daily rest, and legal.

I did say this one was unlikely but nevertheless legal
Mon 00:00 - 15:00
Tues 00:00 - 15:00
Weds 00:00 - 15:00
Reduced weekly rest of 24 hours
Thurs 15:00 - 06:00
Fri 15:00 - 06:00
Sat 15:00 - 06:00
Sun 15:00 - 04:00
99 hours legally worked in one week - 6 x 15 hour shifts + 9 hours of the Sunday shift.

As the WTD says you can only work a maximum of 60 hours in a single week presumably you mean you can legally do shifts totalling 99 hours including breaks and/or POA.
You can’t legally work 99 hours in a single week under the WTD for mobile workers any more than you can legally work a 15 hour shift without breaks or POA

I would have thought the bit where I typed “6 x 15 hour shifts + 9 hours of the Sunday shift” would have made that clear, but evidently not.

You will have been at work for 99 hours in one week, which in my book means you have worked 99 hours. The fact the WTD choose not to count some of the hours you have worked doesn’t disguise the fact you have worked them.
The two weeks in eight in which I submit a time sheet with between 86 and 90 hours on it I say I have worked that number of hours with the caveat that only 40 odd of them count for the purposes of the WTD. I was clocked on for 15 hours on nearly all of those days so they are hours at work which is the same as working hours or hours worked.
You have also forgotten very few people are acyually paying a blind bit of notice of the WTD.

tachograph:
but never the less by the regulations definition of work you can be paid for 99 hours
Which is my point, by the regulations definition of work you can be paid for 99 hours so by definition they must be hours you have worked.

tachograph:
but can’t legally have worked 99 hours in a single week (Monday to Sunday as your example), not that many people would want to but legally you can’t anyway.
If I am at work they are working hours. The fact the WTD chooses not to count some of those hours because they meet certain criteria doesn’t mean they are not working hours, I’m at work and not at home therefore they are working hours and I could legally do 99 of them in a week without contravening the tacho rules or the WTD, providing certain conditions are met, which makes it legal.
If it makes you feel better you can say it is legal to do 99 hours of shift time in one week or that you can legally be at work for 99 hours in a week, but it boils down to the same thing.
