ok im not really sure so i shouldn’t replie but i think it will cause a problem cause you need to have 9hour min before you start the morning shift.
However 1700 till 20.30 is 2hr30min if you wait for a whole 3hours that will ‘bank’ as rest time so im guessing you just need 6hours rest you finish at 00.07 you can start work 06.07 i think

Doubtless some keyboards are being thumped.
Maybe there are two or three different questions?
What is wrong here?
What are the penalties?
What are the chances of being caught?
Even just giving the enforcers the suggestion of a false record. It’s no longer just an infringement investigation.
Penalties and chances of being caught see above.Might as well rob a bank to make it worth it.
Combined domestic and EU obviously means using a tacho and a log book as required to maintain an accurate record.
By the way how do you make an accurate manual entry with a digi tacho without the graph provided by a log book or on the back of the old paper charts ?.
We did masses of mixed van and truck driving, we simply had printed sheets that indicated van work. To complicate matters we used it to record WTD so had columns for single or double man driving and to include ferry times. DVSA were happy.

Quite so, it’s not rocket science is it?
.
Or maybe it is, in your case Albion?

As others have noted it was illegal but one of his biggest mistakes? Telling people about it! That’s when many come unstuck as they just can’t keep their mouths shut!
If I liked my job and my employer treated me properly, a once I a blue moon request like this would be something I would probably risk doing. I would not have put my card in for the emergency delivery so unless I was caught in the act, I could rest easy.

How does that account for the lost mileage.Just like if it was a log book or a paper chart.Messing about like that with records is a mugs game it’s not worth it.

The one rule of Running Bent Club- Don’t talk about Running Bent Club
The rule of running bent is that it’s never worth it.Unless it’s booking an unauthorised break as driving or duty time. That’s why we had such a thriving transport cafe industry under log books.

Digi tachos seem to be retrograde v paper charts regards manual entries ?.The chart was effectively also a miniature graph type log book as and when required.

Interesting replies. I agree about the foolishness of telling people about it. Mind you, I don’t think I would have done it in the first place.
How along will this be kept on the digi card?
How far back would the authorities go to prosecute?
It will remain on digi card until it is over-written. That could easily be 6 months, a year, more?
(if you want to play, put your own card into a head unit, go to “Print”, then scroll down to choose date, and see how far you can go. No need to print off, just cancel/return when date stops changing) .
A roadside check will only look at 28 days record.
The records downloaded from the card and kept by the vehicle operator must be available for inspection by officials for 12 months.

You tried on other posts to post about something you know nothing about…this is another one. I bet in your long past time as a driver going 1 minute over your time made you feel like a dangerous rebel

What do you mean? Someone telling the authorities? The company already know. Would the authorities chase it up if they heard about it?

Just talking about it to anyone. Do dodgy stuff quietly is the key. While DVSA wont Be that bothered by this one offence it could lead to a company check, and by sounds of it I dread to think what they might unearth.
