Dare I add here that ‘Welsh’ or more correctly Khumric or Coelbren was spoken all over this land a thousand year before ‘English’

the word ‘welsh’ is a Germanic derivative of ‘Stranger’

I’ll get me hat & coat.

If I were you I’d forget yer hat & borrow yer granddad’s tin helmet! They won’t be keeping a welcome in the hillsides for you, butty.

all the old welsh boys ( who are still with us ) will rebember the hall inn between raglan and usk rd . call in for a pint then another driver would come in . and so on . half hour break would turn into two ? . then run for home . cops knew . but we were never botherd by them .

There were so many up and down one that allways had good grub.
Was the punch Bowl on top of Brough (A66) good in the winter when you got square
wheeled and could’t go up or down cause of the snow.Specialy before the Carriage way
was built. There was plenty of the old school stopped there I’m sure. Not been over there
for afew years since parked up.Good stream this well done.

Hi GUESTY44
Dont you mean the Coach and Horses on Bowes Moor it was a big favourite, my Memory is not what is was but was the Punch Bowl not at Greta Bridge,if i remember right there was a screed in the Papers in the 60s about it refusing to serve Lorry Drivers stuck there in the Snow,1963 i think it was, if i am wrong i am sure some of the old timers on here will know.
