I have a confession to make here. I quite often fiddle my hours.
I regularly add an hour to my timesheet if there’s no-one left in the office to check what time I finished.

@ ConorWind your neck in mate, some of your comments have been well out of order.
Thank you.

My take on this is that DD999 just likes winding Conor up with his exagerations, and Conor gets reeled in …
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
HOW DARE YOU SIR!!!
exaggerations??.blinking flip…id be having a longer reply than this, but as i was standing up to let my misses fluff up my pillows before carrying me to the bath, that i accidentaly stood on the last four inches of my bellend and im waiting on the wessex im entitled to from bupa to airlift me to my private specialist in munich so make sure itl still be fit for another 15 hour spreadover ( my misses)

Prison sentence for working too hard but you can go out on a Saturday and sink 12 pints of cider and a couple of lines of nose candy then proceed to punch someones lights in and the most you can expect is some community service. That’s a [zb] stupid analogy
We’re SUPPOSED to be professionall ffs.Ok, If they had gone out with 12 pts on board after work and punched someone’s lights out, fair do.s, …at least they are not in charge of 44 tonnes and all the potential carnage that can bring in the wrong hands.
Victimless crime = prison
Crime where there is a victim = getting off scot free“Potential” to cause harm = prison
Actual harm = getting off scot freeSurely you can see those punishments don’t quite fit the “crime”
It’s not a victimless crime when a tired driver ploughs into the back of stationary traffic, killing and injuring people…
yea but they didnt did they
It’s worth remembering that apart from the sentence handed out by the court these drivers will most likely be called in to see the TC, where they could have their HGV entitlement suspended or revoked.

And I used to fiddle my log book by taking unauthorised breaks and booking them as driving and duty.
Tachos are there to protect drivers yeah right. Probably why so many transport cafes closed since end of the 1970’s.

I’m just the opposite. I would like to just stay at home and have them pay me anyway
Would give me more time for the horses

Well there is that Ive had a couple of weeks at home recently and could get quite used to it…

Comparing a driver who does an extra hour to a child molester is the single most ridiculous statement anyone has ever posted on here.
You’re right. Child molesters are less likely to kill someone than someone driving a 44 tonne lorry after not sleeping for 2 days.

Strong words there calling someone a scumbag just because he has a different interpretation of the law!
Complete disregard for something is not an interpretation.
As for dobbing someone in it, where the [zb] has the cameraderie gone with this job??
Has never existed for knobheads.
As for your list of scumbags then my name will also be on ze list. I dont drive tired

or more than the regs allow but i still bend things when i can, not for financial gain but just to suit myself…
How can you not do more than the regs allow if you run bent? The very act of running bent is not complying with the hours regs which means you’re doing more than they allow.
Still, at least that comment confirms that it is stupid people who do this.
i think if i was a kid,and i got the option of going for a trip in a tang truck,or letting jim fix it for me,then id think the top bunk may just be the preferred choice for me…

Not even remotely out of order. It would be out of order if we didn’t get an almost weekly report of someone losing their lives or killing someone yet we do and almost every time its because of someone who takes dieseldumbass and his merry band of moron’s views on the law.

well someones woken up as a happy hangover grumpy bunny this morning.
another candidate for the.none so blind award aparrantly…
best pull it back out so where you can see where your heading on that night trunk later…
id reckon nowadays, the accidents totally caused by over tired drivers pales into insignificance to those caused by speed limited trucks, braid dead bored senseless drivers on brain numbing repetetive trunks that they are distracted by mobiles/social media/films and such whilst on cruise control,
irrespective of if they are flipflops or otherwise.

How many drive 4.5 hrs , then twiddle their thumbs in a lay by for 45 minutes to then drive off. The laws an ■■■ simples
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. There needs to be some kind of legal limit to driving and working times to protect many drivers from their own stupidity, because were there no such limits, you would have the normal detestable Billy Big Trucker types (those that reckon that their V8 is chipped to 1,000bhp, that they used to do Manchester to Milan in one hit, the usual garbage) completely taking the ■■■■ and working 20+ hour shifts.
If there were not so many absolute and utter idiots in the driving game then the laws may be a bit different, but it is what it is and the laws are what they are.

Youre right. The law ain
t perfect, but it does attempt to control excess work and tiredness. Some will be fit at the end of shift to do another hour or two, some wont. Some will be convinced they
re alert, when they arent. If we had a device to accurately monitor driver
s alertness/concentration etc then maybe that would be a better option? But since we havent, we
re stuck with the rules as they are.

Well said mate.
Some of those headcases would work 24 hours if they were allowed.
They compromise on this by maxing out every bloody week, aka as mistaking limits for targets, and boast about their ‘‘Good money’’ for working a week and a half in a week, at same rate right through, in comparison to other jobs, because apparentlly… ‘‘It’s always been like this’’ , yeh, has it ■■■■■■■■.
They are that thick they can not see how they are being ■■■■ taked by their firms as a matter of routine.
It’s mostly because of these ■■■■ whits that the job is crap.

You have no idea how i run. My tacho readout will comply with every rule in the book, you just have to know how to work things for your own convienience. Dont tell me youre one of those who will sit on a bay being tipped for two hours then move out of the yard to take a 45
And…no i dont drive tired, i max my driving hours every week and have no waiting/tipping which means i dont do any more than 3x10hr days and 2x12hr days. You may be bolloxed after doing that but doesnt mean to say i am
As for a different interpretation, its just that, nothing to do with having complete disregard
running bent or fiddling your tacho is only a mater of degree the same as speeding.
anyone overtaking you is a lunatic.
anyone working or fiddling more than you is a cowboy.
if its ok to do 45 in a 40 because thats what your comfortable at,then it dont make the truck going past you on the limiter a nutter.
if you run back on a fri or tip on a break n a fri just to make sure your home in tme, then it dont make someone who wangles the hours to suit worse than you.
if you have never broken a rule or speed limit by even 1 mph, then your brain dead and best suited to working for tesco.
working for yourself tends to enlighten your brain cells as to how to work things to your best advantage.
