Don’t know about you but I’m ringing Bidcorp head office right now to offer my services as a driver. Sod it, for that money they can use me as a ■■■ toy at the end of the shift!
Makes you wonder how agencies find drivers for £11 an hour…or maybe I should say makes you wonder why nobody wants to be a driver.
Okay, I know it’s a load of old codswallop and what he probably means is ‘owner drivers’ commanding £700 a day. So let’s look at that -
£3500 / 5 days / 2000 miles = £1.75 a mile
£3500 / 5 days / 2500 miles = £ 1.40 a mile
Yeah absolute dog ■■■ whichever way you look at it.
If you’re paid by the mile, your job will have you stationary and therefore “unapaid 'cos wheels ain’t turning” for 60 hours per week… Think: How many hours per week does a regular Tramper sit in their wagon UNPAID?
“Daily Rest” - isn’t much good on a truck bunk, rather than at home next to one’s good lady wife now - is it?
If ■■■■■ ever became money - the hapless worker would have their sphincters sewn up as a qualification for the job…
If Eurowork ever became a goldmine - You’d have to have had both jabs to qualify, run the 1% gauntlet of getting a blood clot, and also survive a lot of EU driver’s ire, them being rather ■■■■■■ off that we British types have made off with all the money after voting Brexit to achieve just exactly that…

Call for army to help deliver food supplies as HGV driver shortage deepens

UK distributors are calling for the army to be mobilised to prevent the imminent breakdown of the country’s food supply chain, due to a critical shortage of HGV drivers.

A lot winseer would apparently rather stay out on a fri night & run in on a sat than go home on a Friday night and sleep with the wife on here ,you’d think after being out all week they’d be desperate to get home .
