Drivers day out

List your favourite place on a day off to visit and add the reasons why.
For me Lepe beach near Southampton.
There are three car parks, one on the seafront.
One on higher ground, and a smaller one on the main road by the cottages.
Only £ 5.50 all day, ice cream van there too.
Cafe does hot food but shuts at a ridiculously early time.
Ask for a map in tourist information, for a walk that takes two hours in lush meadows and woodlands.
On high tide, you take the lane route, on low tide, walk on the beach.
There are remains of the docks used in the D Day landings.
Stunning view of the Isle of Wight.
Cruise ships may be seen, and Royal Navy ships.
They lock the car park gates in the evening.

la jonquera…end of…

La Jonquera is full of pimps and ladies of the day and night.

the best part is the fact that the ladies of the night work dayshift also…haircut and blow…dry anyone??

Weekended at barcelona, used to park down near the beach and spend the day in a beach bar or chillin on the beach, night time hit ramblers ,sundays were spent nursing a massive headache and a empty wallet

I like to get as far from water as possible as I work on the bloody stuff everyday and even at home I see it as the house is only about 50 yards from the beech, give me a mountain to go up (in a car) any day

Anywhere in the highlands.

Or for ‘me’ time Caldy beach, it looks out to hilbre island & across to north Wales , it’s only very small but very beatifull.

I go there for solitude, & to think of ‘past’ family.

I always like a day out at Harwich, and watch the ships there and at felixstowe - always loved docks for some reason. Must be the wanderlust in me…

I’ll admit I like going back to harwich and have a wander round these days.

I was born and raised there and family still live there, so the ships were just part of life (even worked on the HSS Discovery for a bit)

There is something nice about about the docks & the ships, I used to go there years ago with my dad & later with my brothers , who were also in the navy a few years ago .

Being weekended in the lorry, coming off the Diepe ferry, no problem.
Got the bus to Seven Sisters nature park,a long estuary leads to the sea, the pub with views over the marshland did a smashing Fishermans pie.
I cycled to Brighton along the coast.
Or bus to Eastbourne.
Good beach near Newhaven.Shower in the ferry terminal.
