Drivers CPC

After the debarcle of last year’s last minute cpc cobblers I swore I would do one a year so it was spread out. A year has passed and I haven’t done one. Am I the only sinner?

Company arranges for and pays for ours and we’ve done 1 session so far.

Same here, just as well otherwise I’d be rushing to get them all in last minute.

Best intentions I said same, I’d do them early and get them out of way- still only done company one where my ‘plan’ says I should have at least 2 and looking to sort 3rd!!

I still haven’t done my first 5, I might do in the early new year I might not.

GET yaself over tilbury docks buy one for 300 :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation:

can get it free with work just don’t know if I want to do it or keep to my principles.

£65 plus vat is high considering the next rush is 4 years away mind, locally companies are from £40

Had the firm intention of not driving past 2019 when mine runs out. I’ve been trying to retire for 2yrs so haven’t done anything, but have learned that life regularly kicks you in the g’nads  and ■■■■■ up any plans you make, so I’ll be look at doing one a year just in case :unamused:

Company pays and we get paid OT for doing it :sunglasses:
Lunch and tea and coffee with bickies all thrown in.
I missed out on the 1st one at the beginning of the yr so trying to get 2 in

Nah. We`ll have voted to leave the EU by the time its due and the government will say, " no need to bother guys"…maybe!

Yep same here done it last week.

Looking at it from the other side of the fence I am a DCPC trainer and I am finding very few individuals have as yet come back round to start the next 5 years.

I have had some companies book their ‘annual’ course so it seems some companies are being proactive and keeping on track. On the other hand a few companies have said they aren’t prepared to pay for the training in case the drivers leave over the next 4 years so they’ll leave to the last year then panic!! (again).

I get the impression this 5 year period will be like the last 5 year period with years 4 & 5 being very busy. In 2014 I was running 3 courses a day, 7 days a week. I hope it doesn’t go that way this time round and more people get ahead of the game.

it wont happen shep not at £65 a pop, people will either go somewhere its paid for or wait until the last second.

even more so now 90% of agencies will give it out for free.

you would be better off running discounted courses to keep ticking over if its dead

Thanks for the advice but I don’t think I could lower the price. Chicken and the egg really. Not enough bums on seats means having to charge more per person. Lower the price and perhaps get more bums on seats but perhaps not and therefore simply lose money.

I don’t know many agencies giving it free (it might seem free but there will be some kind of contract). I already supply courses for some agencies at a heavily discounted rate anyway which most pass on to the driver or ask the driver to contribute half.

My personal opinion is that drivers should not have to pay for their own at all. It should be a company/government responsibility.

ok what I should have said was most decent agencies, I am lucky with ours we have in house trainers and for my guys I would cover the cost in any case as I agree they shouldn’t need to pay if they are regular guys for me.
