I got asked this in general conversation the other day.
When the drivers cpc becomes mandatory in Sept 2014, will it still be possible to hire / drive a 3.5 or 7.5t truck to say move house as you can at present without an hgv licensce or cpc assuming of course the driver has at that time a digicard for the tacho i’d suggest not?. If so, I can think the van hire companies may have some cheap 3.5t or 7.5 t vans going cheap.
Why not? The DCPC is only required if you want to drive commercially and moving your own gear when moving house isn’t driving commercially.
