I always new it wouldn’t work, specially for reversing.

A “problem with the brakes my arse” … only problem was he didn’t put the handbrake on.
A bloke I worked with in Colchester stopped for a paper. While in the papershop he saw one of the firms trucks passing jumped out and waved…then realised it was his own motor with handbrake left off.

That’s gotta be one of the funniest stories on here for quite a while

■■■■ it, I’ll try again.
There was bloke on the buses here in Brisbane did exactly that, only he’d parked on a hill, put the handbrake on and then went to the phone box to report a… faulty handbrake.
Must admit when we were double manning a furniture truck once I had popped into a local shop for directions then my driver comes in to get something then looks up i horror the lorries gone, first thought somebody nicked it then a car goes by and the occupants are looking back we dash out to see the lorry down the road crossed over and demolished a wooden bus stop, small scratch on paintwork and cracked windscreen. It was a Leyland with the handbrake on the right and can only think as he got out he accidently knocked it off as he got out. Poor bloke lost his job for it and my bonus went down as we were good team together.
Great reporting.
Manchester Evening News:
The driver was not in the vehicle at the time but was unharmed.
I also wasn’t in the vehicle, just wanted to let you all know I’m okay.
Anyone else not involved please let us know you’re safe.
Dan.
