Pretty much anything north of York is “Crap Rates”, especially in jockland.

Well i could of told you about the Motherwell branch…but they didnt want me :stuck_out_tongue:

even though ive got over 14 years experience, because i hadnt driven a HGV in the past 2 years they said they coudnt take me on because of insurance :open_mouth:

I grossed £750 on Friday. That was over 70 hours though and after breaks. No nights out though. I am not doing 6 day weeks next month so that was an unusually lucrative week but on my current contract I get over £600 every week and keep costs down so its mostly profit to be stashed away where it won’t show up on any big brother systems

FYI i cleared £632 this week and i work way up in Fraserburgh, wages are better than the UK average i would say,i get £11 an hour and £13 OT on PAYE,but i hear that way down deepest south wages are as low as £7 an hour… In the Aberdeen area and the NE drivers can virtually walk into jobs as there is so much work,i walked out my last job and walked into another the next day without interviews for either of them, they are even advertising outside their yards for them, whereas when i was down Crawley with the missus last year i couldnt even get a 4 day week in the xmas rush and it was only £90 a shift and that was for the Gatwick area, lawdy mercy i feel for you guys down there fighting for a living wage…

I cleared £1300 this week driving a coach. Up yeeeees!

Ive only been let down with driver hire up here.only want you to register then nothing.i also had the same exp with the motherwell branch but only after i refused the 3am starts even after id explained it was only day shift i required but anyway.the govan branch is useless, there looking for gritter drivers but pay no stand by so if your sitting waiting for a call your not paid and if you takenother work you dont get used again.

The work situation in the Central Belt is really screwed.Just think how much worse it would be if the refinery all closed as well.Manpower have a fancy looking office in Grangemouth fat lot of good it is when there is no work in the area.

Its weekly wage we are on about, not monthly!!

The problem of lack of work seems to be dependant on agency. In 6 weeks my range was 58 to 76 hours a week and they still can’t get enough drivers at £11 an hour (s/e rate). Everyone is crying out for drivers and this is before the Xmas rush. Amazon seem to be taking on loads of different agencies to get enough drivers but it is seasonal which doesn’t interest me compared to consistent 12 months of the year contracts. Making a few extra quid over one month won’t cover 3 months at home

Pretty sure he stated per week. Who would drive a coach for £1300 net per month? I wouldn’t drive a transit for that.

A lot of posts stating no work in Scotland, and bad rates etc… Really no idea where they get their information from? Of course there is no work if your unemployable, and the money is crap if you’re a mug.
The majority of us are actually pretty well paid, and I’m finding it the same as scanny stated, my company cannot get enough hours out of me and it’s been like that since I started driving class 1 in June.

Do you know what agencie is looking for drivers in amazon
