Sounds like this guy is lucky to still be alive Does anyone know what happened
Hope he pulls through, it’s a long time to be trapped in the motor.

That’s a long time trapped
Don’t know what happened exactly and don’t know who the company or driver involved was. Anything would just be speculation. But I know the road involved very well and it has a few sweeping bends on it and requires you to take it very easy indeed. 3.5hrs was a long time to be trapped in his cab so it must have been a very bad accident indeed. Hope he recovers from it.
Embankment is the word…I can only think of one and thats a little bridge over a river just shy of a roundabout?
The cab perhaps perched over the edge of the bridge hence the difficult extracation?

It was on the bend just at the end of the airport runway at the motorway end of barnsford rd. Looks a bad one. Can’t even tell what kind of truck it is.
Bloody hell that young guy is certainly lucky to still be breathing Really hope he pulls through that looks like a really bad rollover.

Looks like an ERF or a MAN.
As bad as it sounds, it’s what he gets for speeding. It’s obvious from a distance it’s a bad corner…
I hate that corner .He’s either speeding or looking at the planes .I’m guilty of doing that man on that road because i used to work in the airport to see what planes are in .Some nice scenery onto the runway could have been a plane taking off or landing over his head .
It is an easy road to get distracted this is a sight you see as well for fire training .I have found myself going over the white line on that road a couple of times looking at the airport .
It’s official then, kangaroo court finds him guilty, FFS
His conditions stable anyway so not to bad

Looking at the broken air deflector I am guessing it is an Iveco

It looks [zb]ed to me
Hope the driver’s ok
What a lucky bloke considering the state of the motor. Hope he has a full and quick recovery.
Did he have taco on break or poa whilst he was trapped!!!
Just a joke!
Best wishes to the driver I must say even if it’s not the cause those bloody planes do distact me m42 and m25 and m1 have all low flying planes and I always find myself watching them

Hate to admit it, but I’ve done the same on that bit of road too. And as much as I know it’s an airport right next me, the noise of the planes going what feels like inches over your head still catches me out sometimes.
It might seem like a long time but necessary on occasions depending on the situation, he would have had medical attention to keep him stable all through the process, although the headline says seriously injured, if at any time he showed signs of going down then a rapid removal would have been made to get him off to hospital , the only place you can receive full and proper medical attention, despite a risk of adding to injuries.
If the medics are happy with a casualties condition then the fire crews will take as long as necessary to remove a casualty to ensure the extracation will not cause further harm or injury. HGV extracations are difficult in any case and some more than others so require many different techniques for a successful outcome, however the casualties care and condition always comes first with medics and crew chiefs assessing the situation continously. A long time to be in a place you don’t really want to be in but unfortuately unavoidable at times. Hope the driver recovers quickly and wasn’t as badly hurt as the newspaper story might indicate.

I’d whipped the chart out straight away as not to break into a 9.
