A man has pleaded not guilty to smuggling 51 illegal immigrants into the UK through Immingham docks.
Hungarian Laszlo Horvath was arrested after Border Force officers stopped his lorry at North Killingholme, North Lincolnshire on 14 June. Inside they found 49 Albanians and two Syrians.
Mr Horvath denied the charge of assisting illegal immigration when he appeared at Grimsby Crown Court.
He was released on bail and will stand trial in November.
1 or 2 i could believe he wouldn’t know about but 51… That’s half a trailer, there’s no chance he didn’t know
At what actual number of migrants in his trailer should he be aware of their presence, seven, seventeen, thirty eight?
How the hell did that get through the scanners? I’ve been through the x-ray scanners down at the riverside, surely it should of flagged up before he left the flipping dock!
its the governments fault along with the other countries ports system. Every port should have adequate security, every port should have a scanner, and every port should make every truck go through a scanner…tough i know…but with the current threat from isis, what would happen if a bomb got on a ferry…let alone all these immigrants.
