Juddian:
Yes you are right mandatory testing will become standard practice, just another hurdle passed on the race to the bottom, whoosh there we go.Peanuts paid expected results recruited job dumbed down to accommodate…aha if we dumb it down even further we can attract more and cheaper people, did it never once occur to these highly paid suits that if the job is made suitable for dummies then there might be a proportion of dummies attracted?
Simultaneously by dumbing down the job, those who take a pride in their work and do their best become demoralised because they find the skilled job they once took a pride in doing well dumbed down to the level of the biggest idiot the company can recruit.Well done transport industry, have a banana
The job was dumbed down years ago, the only way to stop it now is to sack the majority of current “drivers”. I work with some great lads at our place but some of them unfortunately I wouldn’t employ. One lad has tipped his lorry over twice, in my opinion that is usually a sign of bad driving, has he been sacked? no he is going for the 3rd time.

As has been said; times and attitudes change. Below is a genuine Government advert from the time…
No it isn’t it’s from a 2009 Mitchell & Webb comedy book.

It may well be. It is however taken from a Govt advertising campaign. Next.

No. It isn’t. It was created by Mitchell and Webb. It’s a fake.

Oh it must be right 'cos a man from the internet said! Give your head a shake, believe it or not there are folk still alive who remember it from the 70’s.

Of course there are. Must be hard not being able to admit you’re wrong.

Perhaps ask yourself this? The drink driving limit in 1972 was the same as it is today. Do you really think the government would release such a poster that implies drinking and driving after 4 pints is ok?

Let alone a car in the 70’s that had a 5 speed box…

Google it you simpleton. Here’s a tip; Google 1970’s drink driving campaigns (images). Well whaddya know, it’s the very first image that pops up. Pedantry would be another good one for you to research.
think that was the same driver ( who was stopped by the police ) and subsequently found a case full of empties besides him…must have been drinking them as he drove…at least he got stopped before he could have done any damage…i like a beer…but never during the day, and certainly not a case of em…

This would be funny if it wasn’t so sad - you so want it to be an old image you’ll ignore all the facts, including a tweet from the actual comedian who made it saying so
The other thing that’s staggering is that you think that because an image comes high in a google search it makes it true. Perhaps you with your massive intellect should research how search engines work.
And lastly, I did just google that image and yes it does come up as #1 image - now try selecting that image and “visit page” and read what’s written just underneath it on that page

I was going to engage in a battle of wits with you, problem being you are obviously unarmed and I’d hate for you (as in the illegal alien thread) report me to the ADL (whoever TF they are) and also the police. You really are special ain’t you?

Well I don’t believe in people being anti-Semitic which I believe what that was about, can’t remember, but well done you’ve obviously been searching hard for dirt on me. Sad.

The comment under the photo on the web page that you so helpfully suggested we search for on Google states:
“*5th pint poster is not real. It’s from a comedy book by Mitchell and Webb”
You really are a Grade One plank, aren’t you…?
Much as I respect The Maoster (I’ve met him in real life) I feel it may be time to stop digging now.

I too have met Chairman Mao Harry, and you are right-he’s a top bloke.
But I think you underestimate him…maybe he KNOWS it’s fake news but simply enjoys winding our friend up
