Driver shortage?

Well, I thought I’d have a crack behind the wheel again in the run up to Xmas. Do my bit for Blighty and all that - and earn a couple or three grand for Xmas.

I’ve applied through Indeed and Total Jobs for 5 or 6 class 1 jobs via agency ([emoji1782])and 1 7.5t with RM. Generally I’ve had a speedy response in the past - sometimes within an hour or two.

I’ve had my class 1 since 2009 and, though only driven a few shifts in the last year or so have done curtainsiders, deckers, containers, boxes for various companies including general haulage and “Blue Chip Bullshitters”
over the last 12 years…Clean licence, dCPC and tacho card obviously…

Still awaiting a single response. Okay, I’m only looking to do 1-2 shifts per week. But really? Driver shortage? Hmmmm[emoji848]

But if its not a driver shortage causing issues, what else is it?

Cant be Covid because people dropping down dead or ending up I’ll would just make the shortage worse, of which there isn’t one apparently?

So if its not a driver shortage and its not Covid what is it?
