Driver shortage[again]

Yo SnowTroll

Yup it was me .

I did it

Why dont you put it in a MASSIVE quote just to remembers yo diddly bwaincell huh ?

Then get yo chuffy in da huffy …

Make loads of baseless accusations …

Before chucking yr tachos out the window !!

Huh ■■

James the cat:
Bloody Venus. Unions need to be on this Venus thing. Thank sunny Jesus we have slate cold thinkers like you and not swivell eyed tangent loonies left alone to smack our bare arse with wild ideas.

Unfortunately in this case the swivel eyed loons are actually the ones who believe it all which includes the unions. :open_mouth: :unamused:

The connection to the driver shortage in all this - is that we now have too many drivers struggling to make 90 bar on their wages each shift. Women are from Venus. My ■■■■■ contain large amounts of corrosive Sulphur compounds, of which there’s a fair amount of H2S04 in the Venusian atmosphere. I work on sundays, drivers have to take a 45 hour break each fortnight, Venus spins arse-about-face because it’s probably been tipped over at some point in geological history, and I’d probably get out of bed arse-about-face if someone tipped me over in the middle of the night.

Winseer:
My ■■■■■ contain large amounts of corrosive Sulphur compounds,

That really could threaten the future of life on Earth at 92 bar atmospheric pressure and maybe proof that there was once life on Venus. :smiling_imp:

boredwivdrivin:
Yo

Still on 90s patter I see. Never a good sign that someone is of a decent intellect when they are 20 years behind everyone else

boredwivdrivin:
SnowTroll

Still struggling to understand what a troll actually. Dear dear. Dont worry,im sure you’ll figure it out some day. I’ve tried telling you but your obviously a bit thick and of low IQ judging by your spelling and general demeanour but it’ll come to you some day. Give it time

boredwivdrivin:
Yup it was me .

I did it

All you did was mention CO2 which was relevent. I was talking about the thread now being about the solar system so no you didnt do it. Stop trying to take credit for things which arent yours

boredwivdrivin:
Why dont you put it in a MASSIVE quote

I think ill do that. Diseccting all your rambling posts to make you look like a ■■■ is quite neccessery

boredwivdrivin:
just to remembers yo diddly bwaincell huh ?

Lol. The man (word used loosely) who uses words like wot and wiv is now accusing me of having low brain power. Priceless!

boredwivdrivin:
Then get yo chuffy in da huffy …

I think its time for you to put the tizer away boring one, you’ve obviously had a skinful.

boredwivdrivin:
Make loads of baseless accusations …

Oh dear dear dear dear dear. Baseless accusations? Are you telling me there WERN’T posts about the solar system AND baring in mind I didnt actually make any accusations? (Also remembering all posts are there for all to see) Because if there are then “baseless accusations” is hardly accurate. Its not even CLOSE.
Try understanding what words you use BEFORE posting and you wont look like such a muppet

boredwivdrivin:
Before chucking yr tachos out the window !!

And that has precisely WHAT to do with anything?

So in summary, borinmoron has tried to be a wise ■■■ and fallen flat on his face (its become a habit for him). Here we have the perfect example of why you should not post on the internet while tanked up on lucazade and cheap cider. Or if you possess below average IQ. You try to rip the ■■■■ by posting a whole load of childish insults and end up failing MISERABLY.
Oh and BTW, the purpose of all the quotes is two fold
1 - You make so many glaring, idiotic and ridiculous comments all rolled in the one post that the only way to properly address each moronic comment is to answer them piece by piece.
2 - It obviously annoys you SOOOOOOOO much

Over the past few months, some of the permanent job ‘opportunities’ that have come my way, have included distance driving with steel at £7.20 hour for rigids or £8.00 for artics, driving an eight legged tipper for £7.00 hour, or driving roro vehicles for £7.25 hour. No doubt some operators probably think people are going to spend thousands of pounds out of their own money to subsidise their enterprises by working for peanuts?

It not just about money though, but also the appalling way many drivers are treated nowadays.

Aw c’mon that’s just boringly on topic :unamused:

Was enjoying the Venus stuff and the allusions to Boyle’s Law, Gay-Lusac law. Just trying to figure out a way of wedging in Archimedes Principle and Pythagoras Theorem into the thread but it’s beyond my brainpower on a Sunday morning…oh wait…

Oh and Henry’s Law can be incorporated into the thread by considering the volume of CO2 dissolved in the pish that boredwivthinkin posts

chicane:

Not really, as it obvious that these hauliers have taken some mind altering substance that has taken them back twenty years in time, where drivers are still buying things at 1990’s prices. :open_mouth: Heck, there is probably even a parallel universe out there where drivers are respected and not right at the bottom of the food chain…

Which takes us to Black Holes, a phrase which could take the thread in an infinite number of directions   :open_mouth: :unamused:

The-Snowman:

CO2 is only ‘relevant’ because of the Global Warming theory.Which is totally based and dependent on Sagan’s observations of Venus. In which he came to the drug fuelled conclusion that the place is so hot because the atmosphere is made up of mostly CO2. :unamused:  As opposed to it’s so hot because it is 25 million miles closer to the sun with an atmospheric pressure way above that of the air pressure used to ignite the fuel in a compression ignition engine.

Having said that we’ve also now put forward an alternative theory that the planet was actually wiped out by the lethality of the pressure and content of the ■■■■■ of Venusian life forms. :open_mouth: :smiling_imp:

Carryfast:

Well that can’t be right cos we all know women are from Venus and they say they don’t ■■■■ :unamused:

Jesus wept, please tell me that isn’t a spoof.

Pimpdaddy:
Why should they when there is no shortage? Any excuse to huddle up for some tea & biscuits, some people hey…[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

+1.

Is there an HGV driver shortage? I don’t bleeding think so!

There might be a pay shortage, but that rate of pay reflects the very fact that HGV driver’s are 10 a penny.

Is there a shortage of KFC cashier’s out there? Again; NO. Much like the HGV driver’s, they are paid accordingly.

Is there a shortage of Laser Eye surgeon’s? YES. They are also, paid accordingly.

An HGV driver, will never be anything but,
a disposable labourer.

Batmann:
If there was a true tangible shortage of drivers, the O/D business would be booming…

Not necessarily. If invoices are high, and the costs of running a fleet are falling sharply as they have done these past couple of years… It’s cheap to get a fleet, maintain it, use it daily without much extra cost over standing charges (eg fuel or not fuel used each day)… It’s getting more expensive to put a bum on that seat though.

If this were not true, then someone explain why yards have resorted to employing duff drivers who either smash the kit up, or have dodgy credentials, such as endorsed licences, criminal convictions, or doubtful leave to remain status?

They’re already paying the increasing money - but are still not getting the quality drivers they hoped for. This more than anything else, suggests a genuine and growing shortage in the driver pool since the introduction of the DCPC this time a year ago in particular.

Shiny £1 coins on sale for a tenner… Guaranteed to arrive within 3 days - or we’ll send you an extra two as replacement - absolutely free! £4.95 P&P payable.

This sure does look like a spoof ad - such as one might find in Viz magazine. :stuck_out_tongue:

boredwivdrivin:
Road transport needs a new approach .
If supermarkets , supermarket suppliers and pallet/parcel companies COOPERATED instead of COMPETED then many ( perhaps 25%■■) of lorries could come off the road , reducing congestion , CO² , fuel use AND demand for drivers !!

You should see some of the stunts we pull just to get one over on our competitors and offer the fastest service possible to our clients customers.

I did a run for a week last month where I did five 360 mile round trips with 5 pallets on max per trip. One night I had 3 pallets on. Could’ve easily have got the whole lot on one trailer.

To make this scenario even worse, it was a double manned run because of the traffic involved on the route. Over 9 hours driving every day.

The obsession with stuff needing to be delivered yesterday and on weekends and god knows what else is just a horrendous waste of resources.

But business is cut throat and if we didn’t do it someone else would.

A driver is a driver. When a bad one is employed, his services are dispensed with and a new (good or bad) driver replaces him. When a good one comes along and eventually decides to leave, he is replaced, again.

It’s an endless cycle.

They’re already paying the increasing money - but are still not getting the quality drivers they hoped for.

Increasing money? Says who?

The job is still getting done, regardless.

Are you under the influence illegal narcotics? The agencies have superfluous driver’s on their books. The road transport companies don’t even bother advertising that often, as they don’t need to.

I don’t know about you guys, but I’ve never heard of a haulage firm that has ceased trading, because it can’t source driver’s for their lorries.

Driver’s are 10 a penny. The evidence is in pudding (small wage packet).

fuse:
Its not a driver shortage, its a money and conditions shortage

true i have full c+e clean licence but i get more money driving a forklift ,why would i drive an hgv for less money ,if the money increases i will be back

For as long as long as people want to drive lorries for a crud wage packet, nothing will change.
