well having been in a situation when power jumped from the power line (misty day,was about 3-4ft away from cable at nearest point)to the truck I was tipping .it blew the tyres, electrics generally kfd the wagon.
I stayed sitting until I was told the power was switched off and the line earthed. Now if I had had to abandon ship I had to open cab door and jump as far away as possible landing with both feet together and shuffle away.
nb …H&S gave me a real grilling but .no fine …the place where I was unloading was made to move the cable underground don’t know if they were fined. This happened start o the 80s o long after starting driving.
It generally buggers the electrics, tyres, brake chamber’s, ram seals and a few other things as well. Both vehicles I knew of did go back on the road, though neither of them actually touched any cables as the electricity jumped several feet to the rams. The only cables I ever touched were computer cables at BL Longbridge, I found them wrapped around the cab after I tipped so a quick snip with some pliers and I high-tailed it away!
Pete.

Muckaway:
Easily done. Easily avoided by looking up but this can be easily forgot especially when you’re watching your mirrors so your load doesn’t spill onto somewhere it shouldn’t.
Looks like the driver involved must’ve been cleaning the tailgate out or letting some residue fall out.
