Agree. No doubt some tactless knob will be along to crack some form of joke about it.
But regardless of whatever anyone thinks of the company just remember a guy went to work and will never go home again.
RIP and also thoughts to the other guy who found him too.
My mate Beaver rang me about this the other morning,.as he knows I’ve a couple of mates on Stobbies …neither of which were involved nor knew anything about it btw.
RIP drive,.
(The ■■■■ job ain’t worth losing your life over. )
Tragic loss
In the last 2 years I’ve lost 2 very good mates to industrial accident , both engineering , one a maintenance fitter / one a electrician , both have done those jobs since leaving school & were in there 60,s ( I worked with them , both new there stuff )
But Chris ( fitter ) got crushed by a machine whilst moving it , Ken ( electrician ) fell from a cherry picker , I just could not believe it , they were both bloody good at there jobs , but a momentary lapse & it’s all over
Gutting , about to retire & enjoy a well earned rest ,
R.I.P. for another poor bugger. You never know what’s around the corner, eh.
Very sad, and goes to show we all need to keep our eyes about us on the yard, whether driving or walking. I had an Amazon “yard marshall” walk behind me while I was reversing onto the bay just a few weeks ago, and you know how much they put into H&S. Just pure luck that I happened to glance at my blindside mirror while doing a standard reverse, and that the unit was coming back into line, so i could see down the trailer at that side.
I gave him what for once I’d finished the manoeuvre.

Can’t say I blame you.
