Does anyone know if forklift training can count towards your CPC hours? Some places online say yes, but the company I took my refresher with said no. They are an RTITB accredited company so the licence is a so called “proper” one & not “in house”.

The question of whether periodic DCPC hours are available to you for an FLT course is a matter for the training provider.
An FLT course can count for periodic DCPC hours, but only if the training provider has registered their FLT course separately with JAUPT. Many training providers have looked at DCPC and decided not to bother with registering their courses for DCPC because of the high EXTRA registration charges demanded by JAUPT, which are over and above their normal registration fees with RTITB. For some training providers, the extra costs simply do not make for a wise investment.
Bugger, looks like i might have ■■■■ out again!!! Found out my ADR course didn’t count because it wasn’t through a JAUPT accredited trainer. 
Most DCPC approved courses will cost a little more due the extra admin and upload fees etc etc
You will also get asked to bring your driving licence for the DCPC paperwork
