Driver CPC

I see in comercial motor that a company has been stopped from teaching DCPC for not doing it correctly, will this mean that drivers who used them will lose the qualification.

i hope so. :imp:
they can then close down another, and another, and another, and another. (you get the picture)

I don’t think so, as drivers could have booked the course in “good faith”, but it does mean that the DSA are taking the delivery of training seriously. I believe that a large transport company reported some comments received from some union members who had attended some of the courses…

You’re referring to the URTU case :open_mouth:

I imagine the course won’t count towards the driver CPC but I imagine they should be able to get their money back.

I can’t see how it would affect people who may have previously taken their course as it would now be hard to prove that previously they never did things right.

The police have been in to the URTU office

I was told by a JAUPT guy that drivers were going to lose the hours but get their money back. he’s just JAUPT though and they don’t enforce. it’s DSA do the enforcing.

he also reckoned previous courses were being investigated and drivers would be interviewd … only needs one to own up to only being there a few hours which might then catch others out for not telling the truth. Bit of a mess really.

There are probably all sorts of things they could check to find out how long a course actually ran. they were held in hotels weren’t they? CCTV and all that?

This particular JAUPT auditor reckon he audits a course in the morning - then returns and sits outside near finishing time to catch them out for finishing early :open_mouth:

What a bloody farce. Why not go the whole hog, every driver who goes on the course shoves his digi-card into a bloody machine when he gets there… not forgetting to switch it to rest after four and a half hours continuous bull ■■■■!
