driver cpc

hi there, can anyone tell me who is reponsable for obtaining this? like my employer said that its the drivers responsability but they are paying for it not me, also it has to be taken on a saturday out of work hours, but does this count towards the w.t.d as its to do with work? help please.

The responsibility for getting it is yours

You are therefore responsible for paying for it - UNLESS you have a nice employer who will do so

If your employer pays for it and/or you are getting the time paid by your employer when you do it, then it counts towards the RTD(WTD) - your 48 hour weekly average - even if you do it on a Saturday

If you pay for it and do it in your own time then is does not count for the RTD(WTD)

Personnal view - if your boss is paying for the course (not the time) and gives you the CASH then who is to know

thanks for that, yes hes paying for the course but i was not sure if because its on a saturday it would count towards wtd. regards peter.

just like to add if you are working Saturday on company business I.E. training were by your employer is paying you for that day as well, you will be at work for that time so you weekly rest could be affected by this if you drive under EU regs so watch you rest for that week as if it is classed as work you would have to make up some time as compensating the rest later.
