You said "have to exchange my licence "
Can I ask why, is it a future employer that won’t accept your UK licence ?

I think I got that incorrect according to the link - when this started it was assumed by the authorities that the DQC could only be obtained with the licence the country the dcpc was done in
As far as I understand you have to renew you dcpc in the country you licence is issued, I knew a couple of French drivers working in Spain who had to go back to France to get their dcpc as they hadn’t changed their licences over to Spain.

8. If you have a licence from other countries
You can get a Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) card if you’ve done the final 7 hours of your periodic training in the UK.
You must also live or work in the UK and have a driving licence from any of these countries:
an EU country
Gibraltar
Guernsey
Iceland
Isle of Man
Jersey
Liechtenstein
Norway
Switzerland
To apply, send an email to the Driving and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) asking for form DQC1.

I live in Toulouse and spend most of my time there - I also have to have a medical and report from Hospital to renew my license - as I no longer live in UK I am now under a French Specialist and I dont think DVLA will accept French medicals
