Hey lads, now then, im fairly sure about this one but thought id ask anyway, just been told that due to the nature of my job (transport supervisor) i will not be doing the driver cpc, fair enough i said but dont i need it as i shunt everyday which includes taking the trailers out the yard to turn around etc and also on occasion actually drive for them. They said i dont need it to shunt and asked how many times in the last year i have actually drove for them, weird i know but ffs cant work these clowns out.

there you need dcpc
If u drive inside 50km circle u do t need it.
If u drive 10 times or less in 6 month not sure if its 6 month. U dont need it.
10 times In ■■ weeks
17 times in ■■ weeks. U dont need it.
gov.uk/driver-cpc-exemptions-examples
Cannot see anything about what you have said in relation to ■■ times per …
As Rog said it’s the bit where you say you drive for them, that means you will need the DCPC.
As for the ■■■ times per month/year, that’s a red herring. There’s two of us in the office that used to do maybe 10 hours a month of driving, we checked with the RHA to see if there is any sort of minimum hours that would exempt us and there isn’t.
When you are shunting, I read the bit below as depending on if the vehicle is laden or not.
Vehicles driven within 50 km of the driver’s base and not carrying passengers or goods
You don’t need to have Driver CPC if you’re not a professional driver but your work includes an incidental element of driving empty lorries, buses and coaches in the local area. You will need to satisfy the following conditions if:
you are driving within 50 km of your base
you’re not carrying passengers or goods
