Firstly, hello to anyone that still remembers me! Just don’t ask…
Anyway - I thought I had a reasonable understanding on this driver CPC malarkey, and was browsing a few internet sites, but with no great urgency, as I assumed that with ‘acquired rights’ I had until September 2014 to get my 35 hours in, however, I then came across this on a site which has all the ‘jaupt’ and ‘drivercpc’ logo’s etc:
“From the 10th September 2009, all LGV and PCV drivers must complete 35 hours of professional training by 9th September 2014. This training is divided into 5 blocks of 7 hours each and cannot be done retrospectively, so that by 9th September 2010, all drivers must have completed at least one block of 7 hours of training.”
“cannot be done retrospectively” Say it aint so!
PS anyone know of any low loader jobs on offer in East Mids??
THE PERIODIC (ongoing) DRIVER CPC
For those with LGV aquired/grandfather rights all the 35 hours must be done between 10/09/2009 and 09/09/2014

Load of [ZB]
Can you give me the link to where you read that as I see a ‘ROG’ phone call being done
Thanks Rog - I was worried that I would have to move faster than dead slow and get some training in before September. I know it’s a fair way off, but these things creep up on you!
This is the link - that paragraph is on the opening page:
upskill.eu/driver.html

I just found that site via a google search - thanks
I have called then on 0115 9327376 and they are getting back to me as the chap I need to contact is on lunch.
I know what they have done - assumed that 35 hours divided by 5 years = 7 hours per year so that is what each driver must do - NOT !!
It does make you wonder about the quality of the training when they’re already giving out misleading information…

Unless they know it’s incorrect and are trying to scare people into signing up now…

I am going to be the first one to ask then!
Hiya Grumpy. I haven’t been away. Was it a whirlwind romance with a fireman
Suppose suggesting you know who, is out of the question. Although the new website looks good

It’s a long story… and still ongoing, although there is light at the end of the tunnel. And suggesting you know who would result in me flouncing out of the room and slamming the door behind me!
A romance with a fireman… I wish

Welcome back grumpybum, I remember meeting you at the TNUK ‘do’ about three years ago.

OK, I won’t then, but I 'm glad to see that you’ve returned
